Lexi's pov;
Mirabel already started living with me as she said and she wouldn't let me do anything. I had to beg her and make her see reason before she could even let me continue working.
I didn't knew she could be so caring and sweet. She also wouldn't let me drive. After breakfast,she would go drop Nelson and me and also pick us up.
" Xandra, you did well". Mrs. Morgan said when she came to check on us.
" I was just doing my job Mrs. Morgan,no need to praise me".
" Don't be so modest. Actually,the thing is that we got another offer but the deadline is farther away. It's about 5 months from now. But the quantity of clothe is more. Do you think you can do it?".
' what, definitely not. Mira wouldn't here of it'.
" Erm, actually, I...".
" She can't". I heard Alex say.
" What do you mean she can't?". Mrs. Morgan asked.
" Lisa and I can try to make it. We'll do our best but Xandra,she can't".
" Why". Lisa said.
" The last time,she worked so hard to meet up with the deadline. She fainted when she came to deliver the goods. So,her health is not good,she can't do anything vigorous for now. She can't overwork herself".
" Oh, I understand. You don't have to. I'm sure Alex and Lisa can do it".
" Thank you ma'am".
" Alright, alright,go on with your work".
During lunch, I decided to have lunch in the restaurant. I happened to meet Alex there so I sat with him.

" For what?".
" For helping me out, I was kinda in a spot".
"I understand you don't want them to know you're pregnant...".
" Shhh". My heart skipped a bit, I quickly looked around to see if anyone overheard him and breathed in relieve when I saw no one.
" But that doesn't mean you can't say no. Do you have to do anything they ask you to do? You should learn to love yourself better". He ranted on and on.
" I love myself,of course. But it's my job to knit. I can't simply refuse,can I? Anyway, thanks for helping me out".
" You're welcome".
" I'll buy you lunch to better thank you".
" As you wish".
" So serious, loosen up a bit,will you?". I ruffled his hair. He swatted my hand away.

" I plan to celebrate Nelson's 5th birthday. I don't want his first birthday without his Dad to be boring for him. I want him to enjoy himself".
" That's good too but the birthday is next month right?".

" Mummy,are you talking about my birthday,am I celebrating it? I've never celebrated it".

" Yes. Will daddy come?".
My eyes reddened. " No, he's not".

" I bet so". Mira replied. She patted my shoulder.
" Come,let me take you to bed, it's late".
" I can put myself to sleep, I'm big enough". He ran off. I smiled weakly.

She gave me that look that tells me she knows I'm lying.
" Really, I'm fine". I gave a small smile.
" I heard you the first time".
" I saw a website online today. We can order everything we need for the birthday without going out. Should we check it out?".
" No, it's better to shop physically, it's fun". She snatched the phone away.
" Whatever".
" The doctor said we can check the gender of the baby during the next session, have you decided?".
" Yes, I don't want to. I'd prefer to not know. I want to be surprised".

" What do you think, should we move this?". Mira pointed at the 'happy birthday' sign hung on the wall.
" It'd be better if you move it higher a bit".

" It's time, let's go wake the birthday boy".

" That was fast". I mumbled.

" Thank you mummy". I gave him a big hug.
"This would be the best birthday you ever had. I'll make sure of that". I patted him as I sniffled.
" Mummy are you crying?".
" No,dust came in mummy's eye".

" We're gonna have a lot of fun today".

" I'll get the door". I said and headed towards the door. I thought it might be some of the guests we invited although it was too early for guests to come in.
I didn't see anyone outside, instead, I saw a gift box by the door.
" A surprise birthday gift I suppose". Mira said from behind me.
" Let's check it out". I said as I closed the door.
There was a birthday letter and a portable camera,
" Wow, I've always wanted to have a camera".
" Let's check the birthday card".
