"Ha, ha, ha, you were just joking. But I must commend your courage. Knowing all about me, you still tried to scare me with your hollow threats. Gaurav, do you think I'm foolish enough to send you anything without thinking twice?" Arohi said with a smile, questioning Gaurav directly.
Gaurav looked at Arohi, confused and surprised. He didn't quite understand her words, so he asked in astonishment, "What do you mean by that? Are you trying to say…"
Before Gaurav could finish, Arohi threw an envelope toward him and said, "You want my answer, right? Here it is."
Gaurav quickly took the envelope and opened it. As soon as he saw the photographs inside, he was stunned. The pictures showed him in very close proximity to a girl. Some photos captured him kissing his girlfriend, while others showed them in compromising positions. Seeing those photos, fear gripped him — what if they fell into the wrong hands? Gaurav never expected this from Arohi. At that moment, he felt a mix of embarrassment and anger over her move.
Feeling hurt, Gaurav said in despair, "Did you have me followed? How could you do this to your fiancé?"
Arohi replied, "Oh please, don't flatter yourself so much. I'm not some crazy girl obsessed with your affairs, spying on you. This was just a trap for you, so that now you'll listen to everything I say."
While Gaurav was furious at her words, Agastya couldn't help but laugh. Watching all this unfold gave him immense amusement, and in his mind, he thought, "Checkmate! The queen has finally trapped this fool."
Gaurav thought about how his mother had shown him Arohi as a last option to save his business. If he didn't accept her terms, the entire business would go to his stepbrother. Though only 22, his stepbrother was already very clever, and knowing his father's bias toward him, Gaurav couldn't afford any mistakes.
Then, with a voice full of disgust, Gaurav said, "So you knew everything beforehand? And you played this game with me?"
Arohi's smile did not fade at all; instead, she teased him further, "Gaurav, don't you get it? This was just a business tactic. And what did you think — that your mother could force me to marry you by playing on my emotions and invoking my late grandmother's name? Absolutely not. This was my game, and I was controlling everyone from the start."
Hearing this, Gaurav realized that he had unknowingly fallen into Arohi's trap. He was angry, but when he thought about it, he didn't find Arohi's deal that bad. His company was in dire straits, and her offer was better than all the previous ones. Still, it hurt him that Arohi had cleverly made a fool of him so quickly. How had he fallen for her words?
Meanwhile, Arohi, with her deadly smile, continued to provoke Gaurav, who was getting increasingly frustrated just by seeing her grin.
When Gaurav could no longer tolerate it, he looked at Arohi and said, "I never thought you could be so cunning. As far as I know, neither your mother nor your grandmother was like this. Looks like you got this nastiness from your worthless father."
As Gaurav had anticipated, Arohi's smile vanished instantly. Seeing this, Gaurav felt a chill in his heart and smiled knowingly. Perhaps he knew that his words had affected her.
Agastya, who had been enjoying the entire scene, suddenly sensed a change in the atmosphere. Gaurav's smile made him realize that his words had struck a chord with Arohi. Before Gaurav could say more, Agastya grabbed his hand and took him outside the cabin.
Gaurav struggled to free his hand and snapped at Agastya, "Who are you, and why do you keep coming between me and Arohi?"
Agastya said nothing but took him to the far end of the office. Then he called someone to have Gaurav escorted out of the office.
Outside, after sending Gaurav out, Agastya returned to the cabin and was shocked by what he saw as soon as he reached there.
