Chapter 8 - An Dark Obsession Overtakes

After being interrogated by Endeavor, he couldn't shake off the thought of that mysterious woman who observed him from a distance. She bore an uncanny resemblance to Eri - every curve and feature was identical, yet she was clearly much older. A sinister smile spread across his face.

Overhaul: "Was that woman from before?"

He asked himself, completely forgetting the intense battle that had just unfolded between him and Dabi, his thoughts were consumed by the mysterious woman who bore such a striking resemblance to the child he had once tormented.

His obsession reached a fever pitch, and he decided to set out in search of the mysterious woman. However, his plans were thwarted when he was intercepted by Chrono, his assistant, who seemed intent on keeping him from his pursuits. He grew increasingly irritated by the interruption.

Overhaul: "Out of my way!"

He snarled, his golden eyes shifting to a menacing crimson as he glared at Chrono with pure hatred. But Chrono stood his ground, blocking the door with a resolute expression, refusing to budge despite the dangerous aura radiating off of his friend.

Chrono: "Don't you think you've done enough for one day, Overhaul?"

He asked calmly, though his eyes betrayed his underlying fear. He maintained his ground, body stiff as he continued blocking the door. His friends unpredictable behavior had put him on high alert.

Overhaul: "Enough?"

He repeated mockingly, his voice dripping with disdain.

Overhaul: "I'll never have enough until I find her."

He took a menacing step forward, his hand reaching out to grab Chrono by the throat.

Overhaul: "Move aside before I make you."

Chrono activated his quirk to slow down Overhaul's movements, hoping it would be enough to halt his progress. But Overhaul was one step ahead; he blinked out of sight and reappeared just beyond Chrono's grasp, having used the power of the book to teleport past him.

Overhaul: "Eri is my target."

He stated coldly, his eyes hardening as he glared back at Chrono.

Overhaul: "You won't stop me."

He added darkly. His obsession was beginning to consume him, his rational thoughts slowly being overshadowed by his fixation on the girl.

Overhaul strode away from Chrono, his mind racing with thoughts of finding the mysterious woman. As he moved through the crowds, every face began to blur together - every slight similarity to Eri sent his heart racing. His obsession had reached dangerous territory; he was losing control.

(At the League Of Villains Hideout).

Dabi: "What was that before?"

He murmurs to himself, confusion etched across his face as he recalls the other him mentioning a book and possessing powers. His mind races, struggling to make sense of the bizarre conversation that just took place.

Dabi: "This is so stupid."

He mutters under his breath, shaking his head in frustration. He decides to take a walk, hoping that the fresh air might help clear his thoughts. Deep down, he knows that he'll eventually have to confront whatever this means later on.

He suddenly felt his Quirk surge, as if something were amplifying it. His flames erupted from his body like they had when he was a child, completely engulfing him. He barely had time to register what was happening before he was consumed by the intense blaze.

Dabi: "What the hell is happening?"

He exclaims, feeling the initial searing pain as his skin begins to burn. But almost immediately, the pain fades, replaced by a strange, almost soothing warmth. His blue flames dance along his body, leaving no trace of harm in their wake.

He quickly makes his way to a private room in the basement, his mind racing with confusion and disbelief. As he examines his body in the dim light, he sees that his scars—the physical reminders of his past fire and burns—are fading away right before his eyes. His skin is smooth and unmarred,...

He steps closer to the mirror, his reflection staring back at him with a face that is now completely normal—no scars, no burns, nothing but smooth skin. Tears well up in his eyes as he takes in this new reality. He quickly looks away, trying to compose himself.

Dabi: "Unknown power...?"

He mutters to himself, his hand instinctively moving to rest over his chest. He can feel something, or someone, inside him—an otherworldly presence that he can't quite comprehend. Is it helping him, or will it ultimately end up screwing him over?

(At the Town).

Overhaul's steps quickened as he searched frantically for any sign of Eri. Every passing second without her in his sight only fueled his mania further. He began to see her in every corner, in every shadow - her laughter echoing through the halls, driving him to the brink of madness.

Overhaul: "Eri, where are you?"

Overhaul called out desperately, his voice laced with a mix of concern and growing hysteria. As he turned a corner, he collided with a familiar face - Izuku Midoriya, the hero who had dared to intervene between him and his precious Eri.

A menacing growl escaped his throat as recognition flashed across his face.

Overhaul: "You..."

He hissed, remembering all too well how Izuku had interfered with his plans.

Overhaul: "Where's Eri?"

He demanded, taking a threatening step forward.

Izuku: "I'm not afraid of you."

He retorted, his green eyes blazing with determination as he met Overhaul's glare head-on. He crossed his arms over his chest, a stubborn set to his jaw.

Izuku: "I defeated you once, and I can do it again."

Overhaul's eyes widened, his pupils dilating with a sudden, unhinged intensity. He saw it now - the similarities, the way Izuku's green eyes mirrored Eri's innocence, his determined stance echoing her resilience.

Overhaul: "Eri..."

He whispered, his voice trembling with a twisted adoration.

Overhaul's grip on reality began to slip away as he stared at Izuku. He saw Eri's face superimposed over the hero's, her voice echoing in his mind.

Overhaul: "Eri."

He repeated louder this time, taking a step closer. His obsession had reached its peak - Izuku was Eri now.

Izuku: "Damn it."

He muttered softly, One For All surging through his body as he readied himself. He watched Overhaul closely, seeing the unhinged look in his eyes. He realized then that Overhaul wasn't just dangerous - he was mentally unstable.

Overhaul: "ERI!"

He screamed, losing the last thread of his sanity. He activated his quirk, disassembling the ground beneath Izuku and reforming it into massive, sharpened spikes. Izuku barely dodged them, but the spikes missed him only to impale several nearby civilians instead.

Izuku: "Shit."

He cursed, seeing innocent people cry out in pain as the spikes tore through their bodies. He knew Overhaul was dangerous, but seeing him like this - treating everyone as threats because he thought they were "Eri" - made Izuku realize just how unhinged the villain truly was.

Overhaul: "Eri, where are you going?"

He screeched, his voice cracking with madness as he relentlessly sent more spikes flying towards Izuku. Izuku dodged nimbly, his reflexes enhanced by One For All. Without hesitation, he kicked Overhaul square in the face with incredible force.

Izuku's kick sent Overhaul sprawling backwards, blood streaming from his broken nose. For a moment, he seemed dazed, his grip on reality faltering.

Overhaul: "Eri..."

He mumbled, reaching out a hand as if trying to grab something only he could see.

Sirens wailed in the distance as more heroes rushed to the scene upon hearing reports of a villain attacking civilians. Gran Torino arrived first, followed by Aizawa, Endeavor, and several other Pro Heroes. They saw the destruction - civilians injured and screaming, buildings damaged, and spikes littering the ground.

Overhaul's eyes widened crazily as more heroes arrived, his quirk activating once again. However, Aizawa's "Erasure" immediately cut off his abilities, stopping the spikes in mid-air. Overhaul stumbled back, his gaze darting wildly between all the heroes - seeing Eri in each one.

Overhaul: "Eri..."

He whispered, his voice trembling as he saw countless versions of the girl he sought, each hero bearing her face in his madness. Overhaul's eyes turned completely black, the power from the book that's surging through him instead of his own quirk. His eyes remained black as he began to mimic the powers of the Pro Heroes surrounding him, including Izuku's One For All. A new ability that he learned from the book.

Overhaul: "ERI!"

He roared in frustration and obsession, his eyes glowing with a twisted light as he suddenly began to mimic Aizawa's quirk - Erasure. The power he had copied now seemed fully under his control, allowing him to nullify other heroes' abilities effortlessly.

(In the background).

From the shadows, a cult member watched the chaos unfold, a twisted smile spreading beneath their mask. Their eyes glinted with excitement as they observed Overhaul's terrifying display of power and obsession. To them, this was a sign that their leader's plans were falling into place perfectly.

This will continue in the next chapter.
