Chapter 1 - The Reincarnation (re-edited)

(all this time I was grinding experience to write the perfect novel I can, and I feel like I'm more experienced now.)

(The below version removes all my typo adds more immersion as well)

(Enjoy ^_^)

Daegu

The moon hung low in the night sky, its pale glow shimmering softly against the glass and steel of the city's buildings. That faint light slipped through a narrow bar window, reflecting off the smooth surface of a glass bottle as it clinked gently against a cup.

Inside, the air pulsed with music.

People danced without care, hands swaying high as the same beat repeated again and again. Laughter mixed with alcohol and sweat, drowning out everything else.

Behind the counter, a bartender wiped glasses with a worn cloth. His movements were slow, distracted. His eyes lingered on one man slumped against the bar, brows furrowed with quiet concern.

Kirito.

His head felt heavy, his thoughts dull, completely intoxicated by the alcohol clouding his mind. He lifted the bottle clumsily, staring at it as if it held the answers to the world.

"What is life…" he muttered, letting out a hollow sigh before taking another sip.

"Looks like you're having trouble again, Kirito."

The bartender paused, setting the glass down. His expression softened slightly as he spoke again.

"As your friend, I'll give you some advice."

Kirito let out a weak laugh, barely lifting his head.

"You ever hear the saying—when money talks, bullshit walks?"

The bartender raised an eyebrow, watching Kirito struggle to keep himself upright.

"Jason Joe…" Kirito said slowly, saying his full name as he pushed himself up with both hands on the counter. "You know… the one about growing a garden instead of chasing butterflies…"

Hic.

Jason exhaled through his nose. He had been Kirito's first real friend—the only one who hadn't left after his life began to fall apart.

A year ago, Kirito's parents had died in a car accident.

The one responsible walked free.

Money had taken care of everything.

In this world, power mattered more than lives. Some countries didn't care how many people died, as long as the price was right. The driver was a rich teenager—untouchable, protected.

And as if that wasn't enough, Kirito had lost his job not long after.

All because he refused to apologize to the same person who had destroyed his family.

The worst part?

His girlfriend had left him.

For him.

Anger boiled in Kirito's chest, but there was nothing he could do. That was how life worked. And eventually… he gave up fighting it.

"I'm leaving, Jason…" Kirito muttered as he slid off the stool.

His legs wobbled dangerously.

Jason frowned. "You want some help?"

Kirito smiled faintly and shook his head. "No need."

He staggered toward the exit, swaying left and right.

Bam.

He slammed into the wall.

Kirito blinked, sobering up just a little as he stared at the door only a few steps away.

"You sure you don't need help?" Jason called out.

The words barely reached him, swallowed by laughter and music.

Kirito hesitated, then shook his head again and pushed through the door.

Jason watched him go, an uneasy feeling settling in his chest.

"…This guy," he muttered, before forcing himself back to work.

Outside, the streets were eerily empty.

No voices. No footsteps.Only silence.

Kirito walked aimlessly, eyes fixed on the ground as a heavy sigh escaped his lips.

"What's the purpose of my life…?" he shouted suddenly, grabbing his face in frustration and pointing at the sky.

"Why did everything happen to me?!"

His voice echoed down the empty street.

"Why is it always me?!"

Images flashed through his mind.

False accusations at school,his parents,his job,his girlfriend.

"Are you trying to take my life too?!" he yelled, his voice cracking.

The silence that followed felt strangely calming, easing the tension in his limbs.

Then he turned the corner.

A girl.

She was laughing, chasing after a small cat as it darted across the sidewalk. The cat wore a collar with a tag, but Kirito squinted at it.

"…Why can't I read it?" he muttered.

Still drunk, he stepped closer.

Suddenly, the cat leapt into the road.

"Hey—!"

The girl followed running towards the cat.

Honk! Honk!

Headlights flared.

Kirito's heart stopped.

His body moved on instinct.

He ran grabbing the girl by her collar, he yanked her backward with all his strength. His foot kicked the cat aside just in time.

Everything happened in seconds.

Bam.

The world spun as his body was hurled into a nearby building.

Pain exploded through him as he slid down,

barely conscious,His vision blurred.

In front of him stood a truck.

Its headlights flashed—once… twice… bathing him in blinding white light.

Then—Everything went dark.

Kirito slowly opened his eyes as he was greeted by darkness,No—space.

A vast, endless black stretched in every direction, silent and empty. His brows furrowed as he instinctively tried to move, only to feel… nothing.

His gaze dropped onto his body his eyes froze, he didn't have legs nor arms.

"…What?"

Where his body should have been, there was only a faint, glowing presence—an orb of soft blue light.

"…I'm an orb?"

The realization sent a strange chill through him, despite lacking a physical form. His light flickered slightly as he scanned the surrounding void.

"This feels familiar…" he muttered. "I've read about this somewhere. It's exactly how they describe it."

His thoughts raced this is it, the place where people get isekaied.

A mix of excitement and dread bubbled up inside him.

"Okay, but—what kind of world am I being thrown into?" he wondered anxiously.

His imagination spiraled out of control.

"Cultivation?"

"Oh god, what if it's martial arts? The kind where my fiancée dumps me and my clan disowns me?"

"Please don't make me some background extra," he added quickly. "I don't want mediocre talent or trash potential!"

Silence answered him.

So… he waited.

And waited.

Still nothing.

The void remained unmoving, uncaring"…Why the hell am I not getting reincarnated?"he snapped. "Hello? Huh?!"

Then, a thought struck him.

"Wait… is this heaven?"

He looked around, half-expecting radiant skies or divine music.

"…No. My parents said heaven was supposed to be beautiful. Way better than this."

Unease crept in.

"Then… is this hell?"

The darkness suddenly felt heavier.

He scanned the void warily, bracing himself for demonic figures or rivers of molten lava.

"H-Hell is dark, right?" he muttered. "So maybe I really am in hell…"

Growing restless, he called out cautiously.

"Hello?"

No response.

"Anyone?"

His patience snapped.

Taking a deep breath, he shouted with everything he had—

"IS THERE ANYONE HERE OR WHAT?!"

The void trembled.

Then—

A small dot of white light appeared in the center of the darkness.

Kirito stared at the unwavering white dot, squinting as if trying to make sense of it.

Then—

The dot began to expand.

Rapidly.

Startled, Kirito's first instinct was to flee—but he couldn't move. He had no legs. No body. No direction to escape to.

The white light grew at an astonishing rate, swallowing the black void until everything was bathed in pure radiance.

Suddenly, a colossal pillar of light surged upward, piercing the endless space above. A golden hue spread across his vision, warm and overwhelming.

Then a voice echoed.

It was familiar—yet distant. Majestic, calm, and soothing, carrying an authority that made his very existence tremble.

"Hello, Kirito."

"H-Hey…?" Kirito replied instinctively. "Who are you? And where am I?"

The voice paused, as if considering its words.

"This is my palace," it answered. "And you were a soul stranded between the void."

"…Void? Oh. So that's what it was."

A strange sense of calm washed over Kirito, as if the being before him was smiling.

"Then… what about the girl?" he asked suddenly.

"The girl?"

"The one I saved."

"Oh," the voice said gently. "Why don't I simply show you?"

The space shifted.

A holographic image appeared before him.

"The girl you saved grew up to become a doctor," the voice continued. "She went on to save countless lives. She pioneered a cure for cancer and succeeded."

Kirito's light flickered.

"But unfortunately," the voice said calmly, "she was later killed by her own kin."

Silence followed.

"Because of that," the voice continued, "you have accumulated an enormous amount of karma."

Then it paused—deliberately.

"So, Kirito… how about this?"

"You may sacrifice all your karma and ascend to heaven."

Another pause.

"Or…"

"You may transfer yourself to another world—with three wishes."

"The choice is yours."

Kirito didn't hesitate.

"…I get to choose the world?"

"Yes."

His thoughts raced for only a moment before clarity struck.

"I want to reincarnate into the Naruto world," he said firmly. "As Kakashi's brother. His twin brother."

"Hmmm…"

"And," Kirito continued quickly, "I want a system that lets me buy anything—jutsu, techniques, even abilities from other worlds!"

"Oh…" the voice hummed thoughtfully. "That wish is… troublesome."

After a brief silence, it spoke again.

"Let's compromise."

"Your currency will be karma points. Killing innocents will decrease them. Eliminating evil will increase them."

"…Okay?"

"For that adjustment," the voice added calmly, "I will be taking all three wishes."

"Ah—wa—"

"Good. Off you go."

The voice echoed across the expanse.

A black hole opened beneath Kirito, pulling him in without resistance.

Darkness.

Then—

A blue holographic screen appeared before him.
