The day of the event came Cheng Xiao sat in front of the dresser doing her make up when Xu Kai appeared behind her.
"Do you want to go together?" Xu Kai asked.
"No, I'll drive myself there, after all no one knows of our marriage." Cheng Xiao replied.
"You can just come with me." Xu Kai said.
"What if people start to talk about our relationship?" Cheng Xiao asked.
"No one will ask about it, you used to come with me when you were my assistant." Xu Kai replied.
"Yes, but everyone now knows that I am not your assistant anymore." Cheng Xiao replied.
"We will just say that it is a habit." Xu Kai said.
"Besides, if you walk alone into that hall in this dress, every man will be looking at what is mine." Xu Kai leaned in and whispered in her ear.
"Xu Kai!" Cheng Xiao said her face turning red.
"What is yours?" Cheng Xiao asked but did not dare to lift her head to look at him in the mirror.
"I will not let you go out alone looking like this, and you are mine, will be mine fully sooner or later." Xu Kai said and placed a soft kiss on her cheek.
After they were both done getting read Xu Kai held out a hand to Cheng Xiao to take, Cheng Xiao took his hand and he helped her up. Tother they left the room and walked down the stairs hand in hand. All the servants in the house turned to look at them and were in complete awe.
They looked like a fairytale couple from a book that came to life. Xu Kai leading the way and Cheng Xiao who had her hair in a bun, her make-up was simple but it made her elegant.
"I did not know that madam could look like that." A maid said.
"She is already so beautiful without make-up, but when she makes the effort, she steals the show." Another said.
"Now I know why the young master fell head over heels in love with her." Another said.
"Shouldn't you be working?" The butler asked coming from behind.
"Sorry, we are just admiring the young master and his wife." One of them said.
"They do look good together, don't they?" The butler said when he saw the two.
'Finally, the young master has found love at last.' The butler thought to himself, for as long as he had known Xu Kai since he was a young boy, he had never seen Xu Kai being gentle with a woman before until Cheng Xiao appeared.
She had been one that was not afraid to talk back if she did not like something. He saw how gentle Xu Kai when he would make her work till late at night and would use it as an excuse for her to sleep over at the mansion.
At first, he had thought that Cheng Xiao had seduced him, but then he saw how she would her distance from him.
