"Do you mean it?" Xu Kai asked not believing his ears.
"Hmm!" Cheng Xiao nodded with a smile.
"You have finally won me over." Cheng Xiao said, there was no reason to deny him anymore.
She had been concerned about his family accepting her, but they have accepted her and his grandfather was happy to accept her. There was no reason for her to not give him a chance anymore. The main obstacle was cleared anyways.
"You mean it right?" Xu Kai asked one more time to be sure and Cheng Xiao nodded.
Xu Kai thanked her and kissed both her hands before he stood up. He gently pulled her up and embraced her in a hug. Cheng Xiao wrapped her arms around him hugging him back.
'If this is a dream, then I don't want to ever wake up.' Xu Kai thought to himself.
Xu Kai felt the urge to kiss her but decided to push it back, he was going to wait until she was ready. Xu Kai decided not to forcefully kiss her like he has been doing.
"If you don't mind, can we take it slow?" Cheng Xiao asked and Xu Kai nodded.
"I was thinking the same." Xu Kai said.
"I am sorry for everything." Xu Kai apologized.
"It's all in the past." Cheng Xiao replied.
"Would hugs be too much?" Xu Kai asked.
"Hugs are fine." Cheng Xiao replied.
Shen Mu looked at her phone after the call ended. She really wanted the marriage between Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao to work. It was really going to be something good since the guys are friends and they were also friends. They could have gone to triple dates, vacations together.
Su Li soon called her.
"I was really hoping that his grandfather to accept her." Su Li said.
"Me too!" Shen Mu agreed.
"That was the only thing holding her back, if the grandfather has accepted her, she would have no reason anymore." Shen Mu replied.
"Can I ask a question?" Su Li asked.
"Go ahead." Shen Mu replied.
"Why does Cheng Xiao care so about the social class." Su Li asked.
"It's because of her older sister. Her older sister was dating a boy in college they were really cute together, but the problem was that he was from the high society. Everyone started a rumor of how she went to seduce a rich guy to climb the social ladder, at first she tried to ignore it but when you have so many people directing their hatred for you, you are tending to crack." Shen Mu paused.
"The pressure got too much to the point when her sister attempted suicide, Cheng Xiao was the one who found her. She was only twelve years old when she read the note the sister left behind." Shen Mu continued, Su Li was in shock.
"What happened later on to her sister?" Su Li asked.
"Did they break up?" Su Li asked again.
"She tried, the guy didn't know it had reached to that point. Cheng Xiao's older sister tried to break up with, telling him he should be with someone from his class that the pressure was too much for her. The guy refused, he had said that she was his life and if she was not in his life then there was no reason to continue living." Shen Mu said.
