Gerome had been worried about his mother since the coming-of-age party. He didn't attend the event until the end because his mother had driven him out of the palace after the first dance was performed. But Effie's condition seemed worse than the last time she locked herself away.
"Does no one know what my mother is doing inside her room?" Gerome looked at the hunched butler of his mansion. Besides pouring tea into his cup, he didn't give an answer to Gerome's question. "Why aren't you answering my question?" Gerome didn't touch his teacup at all.
The mansion's butler bowed even lower, to the point that Gerome was slightly worried about the man's back.
"The Madam is fine, Young Master!"
Gerome knew there was a secret between this hunched butler and his mother. He knew it from the way the two interacted. And for some reason, he didn't like their interactions.
