William instantly flew a hundred meters above Snug's head, his massive hammer crackling with dazzling electricity. Under Snug's worried and fearful gaze, he roared, "Get down!"
A bolt of lightning, several meters thick, streaked across the sky and struck Snug in an instant, just as he frantically flapped his wings to dodge.
"Roar…"
A deafening howl echoed through the surroundings, and every animal within several hundred meters was paralyzed by the electrical discharge. Even animals a kilometer away felt a static jolt pass through them, their fur standing on end as a wave of terror surged to their heads.
Now things were really chaotic. Previously, only magical creatures were fleeing for their lives, but now, even ordinary animals had scattered—more than half had run away, and the slower ones had hidden themselves.
The only one who felt lucky was the little elf Bell, who was still praying.
As faint electric flashes and the dragon's roar reached the valley behind the waterfall, she, who had been completely disheartened, suddenly noticed that the magic imprisoning her flickered a few times and then became intermittent.
As time passed, the barrier began to disappear for several seconds at a time before sealing up again.
Such a heaven-sent opportunity—how could Bell miss it? She threw out some items from the cave to test for safety, and once she confirmed there were no issues, she seized the right moment. As soon as the barrier disappeared again, she flashed out of the cave in an instant.
Seeing the confused gorilla staring blankly at her, Bell drew the magic wand from her waist, laughed loudly, and shouted, "Haha! I knew nothing could trap the great Bell. Goodbye, big dumb Kong!"
After bidding farewell, she activated Apparition magic and vanished from the waterfall valley without looking back, leaving the forest behind.
As for why she didn't go check on William's battle with the dragon—this clever little one had already guessed from the nature of the barrier that William was probably only injured, not in any real danger.
Otherwise, the barrier wouldn't be flickering—it would have been completely broken.
With that in mind, she'd have to be crazy to go back and throw herself into the net.
All Bell wanted now, having escaped death, was to hurry home. She hadn't even noticed the several non-metallic spiders clinging to her body.
Even though she was using magic teleportation every time, the signals emitted by the spiders wouldn't take long to be picked up by the spaceship flying at an altitude of over ten kilometers.
Hearing Sunday's report that they were tracking the little elf Bell, William finally turned his attention back to Snug, who was now smoking and blackened from the electricity, having crashed heavily to the ground.
Landing just a few meters in front of Snug, William lowered his helmet, revealing his face, and smiled at the paralyzed dragon.
"A fire-breathing lizard like you doesn't get to decide when the game is over, does it?"
Even though Snug had been completely demoralized by William's attacks, his voice was still filled with the arrogance unique to dragons as he roared disdainfully, "The dignity of a dragon cannot be trampled upon! I am Snug, the Flame Dragon, not some fool who only knows how to spit venom or magma."
"What's the difference? In the end, you're just another creature beneath my feet."
William landed atop Snug's head, standing between his dragon horns. Deliberately, he stomped a few times.
"See? I'm stepping on you right now. What are you going to do about it?"
"&&…"
A series of incomprehensible words came from Snug's mouth. Upon hearing just a few of them, William instinctively sensed danger—deadly danger.
"You're planning to go down with me, huh?"
Narrowing his eyes, William crouched down, pressing one hand against Snug's forehead. In an instant, he activated his Mirror Dimension, pulling Snug into the alternate space. At the same time, his eyes flashed with an eerie blue glow.
His own life was on the line—so William wasn't holding back, tapping into the power of the Space Stone.
A wave of ethereal blue energy swept across the dimension. Snug, who had been chanting a self-destructive spell, suddenly found his magic completely sealed by an irresistible force.
Not only that, but his entire body started to become transparent, instantly severing any connection to the real world.
Even more incredibly, the spell he had only begun to cast did not backlash against him when interrupted.
"By the Dragon God! Human, what have you done to me?"
"What have I done?" Being threatened with death had put William in a very bad mood.
A sinister grin appeared on his lips as he silently chanted, "Akon's Form."
Inside the Mirror Dimension, dozens—no, hundreds—of identical Williams appeared in an instant.
The real William made a sweeping motion in the air, and a portal opened. Ten complete Prime Sentinel suits emerged from the portal, one after another, hovering behind him.
Snug, now ethereal due to the space energy, could sense the overwhelming danger, yet he was powerless to resist. All he could do was watch as William, with a mere thought, dispelled his ethereal state, allowing hundreds of magical bindings to tighten around him.
"What… what are you going to do to me, human?"
Just as Snug finished speaking, William, annoyed by the noise, threw a Silence and Binding spell at him. Then, smiling coldly, he flew into the air, grabbing one of Snug's dragon horns.
"What am I going to do? Heh, of course, I'm going to eat you."
The moment he made contact with the dragon horn, the Sentinel armor on William, along with the ten Sentinels behind him, began absorbing Snug's power while also drawing in the immense energy emanating from the Cosmic Cube.
Within minutes, the ten armors, now assimilated, turned a light golden color. Their surfaces started glowing with an orange-red hue, signifying fire energy.
Feeling his magic being drained away, Snug finally experienced true fear.
He struggled violently, managing to break free from the binding spell, but immediately, over a hundred magically-enhanced clones and another hundred magical ropes restrained him again.
Now, no matter how much Snug struggled, he couldn't break free from so many magical restraints.
As the Sentinels absorbed more and more of his magic, their glow intensified. At the same time, Snug visibly withered, his massive body shrinking at an alarming rate.
"We surrender! We surrender!"
Just as William was about to drain the enormous dragon dry, an unexpected voice rang out—young and pleading.
"Please, let us go! We're willing to surrender!"
"How is that possible?"
When Snug had broken free from the spell earlier, William had already confirmed that the Silence spell was still in effect.
Yet now, Snug—who shouldn't be able to speak—was talking?
Wait… This voice was the same one he had heard when he first encountered Snug.
Still absorbing Snug's magic, William spread his mental energy out once more, but just like before, no matter how hard he searched, he couldn't locate the source of that young voice.
Frowning, he spoke in a deep voice, "If you want to save Snug, then show yourself now."
"I… I… I'll come out now…"
But when the owner of the voice finally appeared, William instinctively shot up into the air in shock, staring in disbelief at the small figure a hundred meters below.
