Hearing the voice in his ear, William immediately shifted his focus to finding its source.
Expanding his psychic scan to its maximum range of a kilometer, he swept the area multiple times within seconds.
But instead of finding the speaker, he only discovered numerous strange magical creatures lurking in the forest, watching him from the shadows.
Unable to locate the voice directly, William smirked.
As another round of lightning bolts struck him, he pretended to struggle, dropping from 500 meters down to below 400 meters in altitude.
His apparent "weakness" excited the Thunderbirds.
Their shrieks filled the sky as their attacks intensified.
The bolts became more frequent, their energy crackling through the storm.
And just as William anticipated, the voice reappeared in his ear.
"Leave our land, outsider, or more Thunderbirds will come for you."
This time, William not only pinpointed the exact location of the voice but also realized—it was female.
Focusing his psychic scan in that direction, he quickly detected traces of an invisibility spell coming from inside a hollow tree.
Zeroing in, he finally saw the culprit—a tiny creature, barely a meter tall, with a pointed nose and a delicate frame.
"Gotcha."
The small fairy-like being, who had been staring at him, froze in horror as his gaze locked onto her.
Her mind went blank with fear.
Panicking, she dove back into the tree's thick foliage, trembling and chanting to herself,
"You can't see Bell… You can't see Bell…"
Too bad for her—hiding was useless.
Within seconds, an irresistible force seized her, yanking her out of the tree and into the air.
"No! Let me go! Someone, save Bell! Save Bell!"
Now floating 100 meters above the ground, the little creature watched in pure terror as William did something beyond belief.
With his target captured, he lost interest in dragging out the fight with the Thunderbirds.
Rising back to 600 meters, he raised his hand.
A blinding surge of electricity crackled in his palm.
"GET DOWN, ALL OF YOU!"
A storm of lightning erupted from his hand, streaking upward toward the sky.
Each bolt struck a Thunderbird directly, overwhelming their natural resistance.
Within seconds, all of them were fried.
Their bodies, now smoking and twitching, plummeted from the sky like meteors.
And he wasn't done yet.
Turning his gaze toward the forest, he locked onto the other magical creatures spying on him.
Hovering in midair, William extended his hand and fired another bolt.
His target?
A panther-like creature, far larger than a normal leopard, with rows of long, sharp spines protruding from its neck.
His instincts told him—this one was the biggest threat.
"ZAP!"
Lightning instantly struck the beast.
"AARRRHHH!"
It let out a pained howl, its body convulsing violently.
At the same time, a thick green mist began seeping out of its body.
Just from the color, William could tell—it was poison.
That explained why his instincts had marked it as a threat.
Deciding to make an example, William didn't stop.
Raising his other hand, he unleashed a massive wave of fire, illuminating the forest like a second sun.
The moment the flames touched the poison mist, the air filled with crackling explosions.
The panther-like beast, still twitching from the lightning, barely had time to take two steps before the flames engulfed it completely.
Its death howl echoed through the valley as it was reduced to ashes.
—
"Oh, great Magic God… Is he a demon?!"
The tiny fairy—who had introduced herself as "Bell"—stared in absolute horror.
That lethal predator, a creature feared by even the strongest beasts in this region, had been killed instantly.
Before her very eyes, a living nightmare unfolded.
In the forest, the other magical creatures panicked.
Many of them immediately fled, vanishing into the night.
But not all of them.
Far away, perched on a distant mountain, a pair of enormous, fiery eyes continued watching.
William noticed immediately.
But first—he had Thunderbirds to deal with.
—
"Binding Spell."
As the Thunderbirds crashed to the ground, William snapped his fingers.
Magical ropes shot out, wrapping tightly around all of them.
A moment later, he followed up with a mass levitation spell, keeping them suspended just above the ground.
With his prisoners secured, he waved his hand toward Bell.
In an instant, she teleported a few meters closer to him.
Of course, he could've just teleported her directly, but he wanted to disguise his space manipulation as wizardry.
The tiny fairy screamed in fright, covering her eyes.
"Don't eat me! Please! I'm a fairy! I taste terrible! I'm tiny!"
William chuckled.
"What's your name, little thing?"
Peeking through her fingers, Bell saw his helmet retract, revealing his face.
She froze for a second before gasping in shock.
"Human?! That's impossible! Humans shouldn't be able to reach this place!"
"Answer my question, little thing."
William's smile disappeared as he frowned.
He didn't like the way she had said "human"—as if it were something unnatural.
Immediately, Bell felt an invisible force tighten around her throat.
Terrified, she squeaked out a response.
"I'm Bell! Lord Wizard, my name is Bell! I'm a magic fairy!"
"Magic fairy?" William raised an eyebrow.
"Not a house elf?"
"House elves serve humans. We serve—"
Bell slapped her hands over her mouth before she could finish.
Then, realizing her reaction was suspicious, she quickly lowered them and tried to lie.
"Uh—we magic fairies are free beings, living only to serve nature!"
She sneaked a glance at William's face.
Seeing no reaction, she sighed in relief and continued,
"Since we can use magic, that's why we call ourselves magic fairies!"
Unfortunately for her, Bell was a terrible liar.
She was so bad at it that William didn't even need to look at her body language—her voice alone gave her away.
Her heartbeat had doubled, faster than even when he had first caught her.
William almost laughed—was she really this scared of him?
If he scared her any further, she might drop dead from a heart attack.
Deciding to change the topic, he pointed toward the distant, fiery eyes on the mountain.
"What kind of creature is that?"
Bell followed his finger and immediately paled.
"Oh, great Magic God…"
Her wings trembled violently.
"Bell needs to leave—
RIGHT NOW!"
