Chapter 864 - Chapter 864: Shifting the Blame to the Americans

After reaching an agreement with Captain Marvel to deal with the demon god Set, William snapped his fingers—

The Mirror Dimension vanished, and the two of them reappeared outside the church.

The moment they emerged, Sunday's voice came through his earpiece:

"Sir, during the three minutes you were gone,

Ahmanet has been continuously draining her own life force to summon large swarms of magical scarabs,

attempting to overwhelm the mercury spiders and Black Blade drones and regain control of herself.

Requesting permission to open a portal and deploy additional units to completely restrain Ahmanet."

Without hesitation, William opened a portal—

Not only did he send reinforced spiders and drones,

But he also dispatched a massive deployer, the size of a computer mainframe, loaded with 500 obsolete metal spiders, sending them all into the church.

---

The fact that mercury could restrict Ahmanet's movement but not suppress her magic was something William already expected.

After all, in his memory of the movie, there were similar scenarios.

Not to mention that Set himself had personally infused her with power.

So her attempt to escape came as no surprise at all.

Using his Mark armor's virtual projection, William displayed the scene inside the church for both himself and Carol.

---

The first thing he saw disgusted him so much that he nearly threw up.

Taking a deep breath, William forced himself to look past his revulsion at Ahmanet's decomposing, desiccated form—

Each time she summoned scarabs, her body withered further.

Shaking his head, William muttered to himself,

"Whether human or undead, as long as they have human-like thoughts,

When pushed to the brink, they'll still gamble their own lives to survive."

But sentimentality aside, William felt no sympathy for Ahmanet.

If anything, he welcomed her wasting her own power,

So that sealing her later wouldn't be a hassle.

Turning to Sunday, he instructed:

"Adjust the reinforcements incrementally,

Make sure we don't alarm her too soon."

Unfortunately, the difference in color between the older metal spiders and the standard black spiders quickly caught Ahmanet's attention.

The moment the reinforcements joined the fight, the scarabs started dying faster.

Ahmanet soon realized something was wrong.

Feeling her power rapidly depleting, she let out a furious, unwilling roar—

At the same time, the remaining scarabs crumbled into ash, dispersing into the air.

The absorbed energy returned to Ahmanet, allowing her to reclaim some magic power.

With the show over, William smirked and turned to Carol.

"Let's go finish off Ahmanet.

After that, we can find a place to sit down, eat, and discuss the details of our cooperation.

Since we're now on the same side,

Maybe we can even have a chat about those Skrulls."

But Carol wasn't stupid.

Bringing up the Skrulls now would just give William an opportunity to extort her.

And though she wasn't afraid of Ahmanet,

With William handling everything, she had zero interest in stepping into the church to see that horrifying creature in person.

"Other matters can wait until Set is dealt with," she said flatly.

"As for the church, that's your problem."

Without another word, she shot into the sky, disappearing at high speed.

William shook his head, watching her leave.

Then he simply waited outside the church, allowing Sunday to finish constructing the mercury stasis pod.

As for keeping the police away from the church,

The Kingsman agents that Sunday had summoned were already handling it.

---

One hour later

To prevent Set from discovering the portal,

William opened a new one at the church entrance,

Allowing combat robots to escort the stasis pod into the altar chamber.

The robots, having no emotions or mercy, ignored Ahmanet's curses as they sealed her inside the mercury pod—

Before transporting her to Mars for indefinite storage.

With Ahmanet taken care of, William cleaned up the remaining drones and teleported home.

### The Next Morning

Before it was even 8 AM, Sunday's voice rang through his bedroom:

"Sir, Prince Wilson has requested an audience.

King Philip and Richard, the Prime Minister, want you to explain why dozens of people died last night.

Additionally, the Anglican Church wants you to account for the sudden disappearance of the monks and knights from the church.

They are also asking you to fulfill your duties as a Holy Knight of the Anglican Order by bringing the culprit to justice."

"Explain?"

Woken up with morning grogginess, William grumbled irritably:

"Do I owe them an explanation?

Do these old men think they own me?

They hand me a meaningless honorary title, and now they expect me to take orders from them?

They can all go to hell.

And tell Wilson to get lost too."

"Understood, Sir."

"Wait."

Before Sunday could dismiss Wilson, Abigail—who had also been woken up—spoke up.

Sitting up in bed, she gently urged William:

"Darling, I don't know what happened last night,

But with so many people dead,

Even if you had every right to do what you did,

It's better to at least give a public explanation.

People won't just let it go when dozens of lives are lost."

Hearing Abigail's reasonable advice, William sighed.

She was right.

The incident had resulted in dozens of deaths, and an entire town of British citizens had witnessed supernatural events.

If he didn't say something, he had no idea how Philip and Richard might react.

But then again—

This was all America's fault.

If he could shift the blame entirely onto the Americans,

Maybe it would worsen the existing cracks in UK-US relations.

That could be fun.

At that thought, William's lips curled into a smirk.

But outwardly, he grumbled,

"Couldn't Wilson have waited a bit?

Doesn't he know I only slept a few hours?"

Watching him smirk despite his complaints, Abigail immediately knew he had already agreed.

Exchanging a glance with Jessica, Abigail signaled subtly.

Jessica, initially startled, quickly understood, and got out of bed to fetch William's clothes.

### An Hour Later

After a simple breakfast, William sat inside his Rolls-Royce Phantom,

Turning to Wilson, who looked both serious and slightly afraid.

William frowned impatiently and said,

"Spit it out.

Stop looking so hesitant—it's annoying."

Wilson glanced at the driver, Antonov, before pressing the button to activate the car's privacy divider.

Then, in a low voice, he asked:

"Can I see the footage Kingsman recorded?"

"Hmm?"

William raised an eyebrow.

Instead of questioning the existence of supernatural creatures, Wilson was asking for video evidence?

Curious, William asked,

"Aren't you going to ask if the undead were real?"

"Do I look that stupid?"

Wilson rolled his eyes.

"My grandfather, Prime Minister Richard,

Several high-ranking members of the Anglican Church—who never appear in public—

And ten or more elderly men with white hair and beards all gathered at once.

Do you think I still need to ask if this is real?"

"Ten old wizards?"

It only took a few seconds for William to realize—

These must be England's hidden sorcerers.

His eyes gleamed mischievously.

Maybe it would be fun to let those arrogant British wizards suffer a bit.
