Chapter 37 - Chapter 37

I sat by Levy's bedside, watching as her eyes opened and she finally woke up from her mini-coma. Even knowing she was going to wake up, I still felt a knot loosening in my chest as I felt relief flood through my body.

After my talk with Rhea- and our weary alliance- I immediately met Manuela who led me back to the infirmary and promised to come check on both Levy and I after she was done with her classes.

As I sat by Levy's bedside, I began to think. Not about anything in the Fire Emblem World this time, but about something from the Fairy Tail World...

When I learned my Magic from the System, I also obtained memories associated with that magic- showing how I trained it.

During my early days in the Fairy Tail world, a thought had ocurred to me. One that had such genuinely terrifying implications that I had buried it deep within my mind and put it behind lock and key- that was how truly terrifying the thought had been.

But now, in the Fire Emblem world, the thought was rising to the surface and- this time- I didn't stop it.

With the memories I had from the System, the memories included in how to access the elements of my magic... But, most importantly, I also knew how to access both the Dragon Slaying and God Slaying attributes of my Magic. It was because of that, I'd had the thought...

What if I applied a different attribute when accessing my Dragon and God Slaying attributes, before I infused them with the element?

With my vast array of magics that I had access to... I could learn an infinite amount of Dragon and God Slaying Magics. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Gravity, Curse. And also...

I slowly lifted my hand, summoning the God Slaying attribute to my hand...

Before a heavy pressure and a mysterious energy rippled around my hand, glowing with a heavy azure light.

[You have developed Time God Slayer Magic. Time God Slayer Magic has become a Sub Magic under Time Magic.]

I swallowed.

Time God.

Gods of Time were extremely rare in history- usually reserved for the Gods who resided over Fate. A God of Time had existed in Fairy Tail as well, before Dimaria had used her Take Over Magic to obtain their power.

However... I believed that developing this magic was necessary for the future.

Zeref would- eventually- create a gate using Lumen Histoire's infinite magical power in order to access a crack in time with the intention to return to the past. But with my Time God Slaying Magic, I would be able to devour that crack in time and foil Zeref's plans.

With my interfering in canon, there was a chance that Nozomi would end up weaker than if I hadn't interfered- therefore, I needed to prepare for contingencies and play it safe.

More important than that, however... My Theory had been proven correct.

And, now that it was...

I could do it- channel the Elements with the attributes in order to create an infinite number of Slayer Magics. I would still have to build up the immunity to the magics- it was part of the training, you weren't just instantly immune once you learned the magic- and I'd need to get used to swallowing Magic Elements...

I shook my head- I would do that later, one at a time. The Hospital Room wasn't the place to learn all of them- better I see if I could find a nice, wide open area to train without damaging anything.

A groan filled my hears and I immediately focused on Levy, who's eyes fluttered open as she stared at the ceiling. "What... Happened?"

"It's okay," I told her quickly, holding her hand and gently leaning in so she could see me properly- to re-assure her before she started to panic. "I'm right here, Levy."

A look of relief came to her face before she carefully began to push herself up into a sitting position. "Where are we? What's going on?" She asked.

"What do you remember?" I asked her.

"I..." She frowned. "I remember that... That Rift... How we both got dragged in... I remember feeling so... Sick, like I wanted to throw up... And I remember seing some sort of clawed hand and then..." She shook her head. "I think there was something else, but I don't remember at all."

The something else... It must have been the unholy screech that even rattled my brain. It was an abomination- something so horrifying that Levy's brain almost flatlined just from trying to comprehend the existence of what she heard.

"We're in a Monastery," I told her, "It's a Church,- the Church of Seiros- but it also doubles as a school called the Officers Academy. We were found by one of their groups- the Black Eagles- and brought back here for healing. I woke up yesterday, you needed a bit more rest before you woke up though."

"The Church of... Seiros?" She repeated. "I've never heard about it... Did we somehow end up on another Continent or something?"

I swallowed. "... Not another continent. Another world."

Levy looked at me in confusion for a moment- likely thinking I was joking- before her eyes widened in realisation since she knew I wouldn't joke about something this serious.

"I can get us back," I told her quickly before she panicked. "I'm working on a Magic Spell that will be able to take us back home... But it's going to take some time before it's ready- even for me, who learns and develops magic quickly... But I should be able to slot us back into our world at the moment we left."

A look of relief came to her face when she heard that, glad that not only would we be able to get back- but we also wouldn't be worrying our guild members with our disappearance.

"But..." I swallowed. "There's something I have to tell you, Levy. Something important."

She looked at me with concern and held my hands. "You can tell me anything, Ash. You know that. What's wrong?"

I took a deep breath... And then, I told her.

I told her about how I didn't come from Earthland- how I came from another world entirely where there was no magic, and technology had become the dominant factor in the world.

I told her about how Fairy Tail- and the world we were in right now- were stories that I'd read in my past life.

I told her about the voice in my head- BB- and how I was able to obtain a new magic every time I changed the destined trajectory of the world.

I didn't get into my past- I only focused on the details of my Isekai, my System, and also about how I knew about this world and Fairy Tail. I didn't want to rehash my past life when there was little chance of it ever coming up again.

When I was done talking, the two of us sat in silence for a long time as Levy processed everything I told her.

"That's... A lot," she finally said.

I just nodded, not sure on what I could even say. My throat felt dry, even though I didn't need water.

"I'm happy you told me," she smiled at me. "It's a little... Weird, knowing our story is out there in another world- but kind of cool..." She held my hand tightly. "But this doesn't change anything. The story is the story. But I am me, and my life is my life..." She smiled kindly. "Thank you for telling me, Ash. It means a lot to me that you trust me with your secret- I know it can't have been easy for you to tell me all of that."

I didn't speak again just yet, able to sense she wasn't done talking.

She took a deep breath, "This is really a lot," she finally added again. "Can... You hug me?"

My arms wrapped around her, pulling my head into my chest and stroking her hair lightly.

"... I'm scared," she finally said quietly. "I want to go back home and cuddle in our bed... I want to go back to the guild and see everyone. I'm scared, Ash."

My arms tightened around her as I kissed the top of her head. "I am too," I admitted. "I won't lie... I'm scared too. But we'll get through this, together."

She only nodded, holding me tighter for a moment before she finally let go and gently pulled back, taking a deep breath. "Right, what's our current situation? We were found by a group of school students and brought to a church, they healed us up... Now what?"

"I made a deal with the head of the institution," I rubbed my thumb against the back of her head slowly. "We're going to be attending school here as part of the Black Eagle house."

Levy stared at me in surprise. "School? Really?" She tilted her head. "Why?"

"Three reasons. First: gratitude. I'm grateful to the Black Eagles, so I naturally feel indebted to them and I want to help them."

The bluenette nodded- this made sense to her too.

"The second reason, this world has its own problems and- even if we aren't staying here permanently- I'm still a mage of Fairy Tail. If there's bad things happening in front of me, I don't want to just ignore it."

Levy gave me a warm smile, clearly she approved of this reason.

"The third reason is the most selfish," I smiled at her. "Now that we've traversed the void, our bodies have become... Special, more adaptable to the world. That means we can learn this world's magic system- and I know you love learning about new kinds of magic."

Of course, this wasn't entirely true. It was true that our bodies had been affected by our trip through the void- but only Levy had adapted so extremely. I could see it with my eye that the mana of this world was receptive to her, accepting her. I already had that benefit thanks to my system, plus I didn't have 'Magic' in the way others did- I had a special internal energy that could act as a substitute for any other power.

My trip through the void, I felt, had instead strengthened my 'connection' with my Infinity Dragon Slayer Magic. I could feel the void attribute practically vibrating, trying to leap in front of the others so I would use it.

"That's amazing," Levy smiled, "You sure acted fast... But I'm glad, I'll do my part to help too. We're partners, after all."

"Team Ragnarok," I agreed and hugged her once more, her body relaxing as she snuggled against my chest.

The two of us just held one another for quite a long time, not saying a word... For now, in this foreign world, we were all the other had.
