Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: A NEW FEELING

"I swear, this is a fucking set-up; Amanda must have flattened those tires." I thought to myself, why am I sitting in the front seat in silence with Jackson driving me home?

I think this is the part where I need an inhaler or some oxygen to breathe properly, because I've been careful about any sounds I make and not to be awkward, more than we already are. I thought so much about how to break the ice between us, but nothing seems to come up.

"What kind of music do you listen to?" I heard him ask, breaking the silence.

"Um... hip-hop," I responded nervously.

"I thought women liked blues. They always love things that would make their heart skip a beat, just like romantic dramas." He said.

"I like horror dramas more," I responded, smiling nervously.

"I guess not every woman, then." He responded as he reached for the radio to play a song.

"Yeah," I responded, looking out the window to catch my breath.

He played a thrilling hip-hop song. I guess he must have had me in his head, as I did. He dropped me off at my home fifteen minutes later after that conversation. I had wished we had more time.

"Good night, Miss Debbie." He said, looking out the car window.

"Good night," I responded before he drove off. I could sleep all through the night with his voice in my head.
