People exchanged bewildered glances. This time, they were somewhat moved; after all, it was a whole two million, enough for an ordinary family to buy a house outright. But when they thought about the risks involved, they shook their heads, dismissing the idea.
It wasn't their fault, really. This river had always been notoriously dangerous. Every year, people would accidentally fall in, and not just children. A few years back, even members of a swimming team had fallen in and never resurfaced.

At this rate, the child won't last more than three or four minutes.
When it came to saving lives, Jiang Ce never hesitated. He took off his shoes and clothes, preparing to get into the water.
