Before Doctor Zhao could react, Jiang Ce seized his arm, his glare turning icy.
Doctor Zhao jumped, frozen in fear. "What are you doing?" he exclaimed in terror. "Are you going to hit me?"
Staring at this scoundrel, Jiang Ce felt the urge to beat him senseless. But then he reconsidered. That would be letting him off too easily.
So Jiang Ce released Doctor Zhao and smiled. "I'm not going to hit you. The hospital has its own rules. If I'm not mistaken, the only reason these drugs are so expensive is that the money ends up in your pocket, correct?
"Embezzling funds, threatening patients... If the hospital administration learns about this, they'll deal with you. It's not my place to get my hands dirty."
An ordinary doctor would have been scared stiff by such words, but Doctor Zhao just laughed.
Jiang Ce was right; all of this was Doctor Zhao's own doing. In fact, the other nurses and doctors knew a thing or two about it, but none of them dared to confront him.
