Pei Yanzi cried miserably, as though she had suffered the greatest injustice in the world. Lin Xiao, however, didn't know where to put his hands and awkwardly let her sob in his arms.
After some time, Pei Yanzi's crying gradually subsided. Lin Xiao let her go, and she looked up at him with tearful eyes.
"What brings you to Jinhai City?" Lin Xiao asked.
Pei Yanzi wiped her tears and said in a low voice, "I was feeling down, so I came out with a classmate to take my mind off things."
"Feeling down? What happened?" Lin Xiao asked curiously.
Pei Yanzi looked down and shook her head.
When she didn't seem to want to talk about it, Lin Xiao changed the subject. "Where's your classmate?"
With red-rimmed eyes, Pei Yanzi looked around. "I don't know. I don't know where she went either."
"It's alright if you can't find her. Are you okay?" Lin Xiao asked with concern. After all, she was Pei Donglai's sister, so Lin Xiao naturally had to show some concern.
"Big Brother Lin, I-I'm fine."
