Chapter 85 - The Pope's Deadly Demise

The Pope was at his wits end!

More so than the pain and the panic, was a deep rage.

He was going to fail!

He could see it as clearly as he could see the statue of the Demon Lord erected in front of him.

All his years of diligent work, all the souls he had sacrificed to his Lord, all the people he had used, his meticulous planning which made in near impossible for anyone to catch him in his acts had been blown into bits.

And now he was going to be blown into bits!

All because he failed to take into account just how dangerous a Saintess could be.

Just one Saintess!?

A weak and pathetic girl whom anyone could have easily stomped upon when she was alive proved to be so much more dangerous in death!

I should not have killed her. I should have imprisoned and let her live out her days. Her power had not even awakened when she was alive. What harm could she have possibly done?

Matthew knelt on the floor, eyes glowing and the satanic circles made of red fire spinning around him. He continued to chant to no avail.

The holy power within Felicia's curse was going to destroy him!

He made a mistake trying to control it. It could not be controlled by anyone other than the Goddess and Felicia herself.

And right now, Felicia was in charge. She was determined to smite at everyone who had wronged her. Which extended well past just her former fiancé and family members.

Matthew's vision suddenly clouded and took him to another place.

-------

The Saintess was trapped in a strange world of white. Even dead, her soul had not passed on.

She had not joined her sisters in spirit.

She had not joined her mother.

She had not joined the Goddess.

Simply put, she was not at peace.

And if she was not at peace than that could only mean her curse was keeping her anchored. Her magic was filtering out of her and leeching into the living world.

Red tears flooded from her eyes, she pulled at her hair and clawed at her arms.

Banshee like screams of fury and agony left her parted lips.

"You will all pay! You will regret the day you killed your Saintess as a witch! I condemn you all! I seal your doom with my death!"

-------

Matthew dropped on all fours and vomited up blood.

More red fluid flowed out from all of his orifices!

His veins erupted from the holy power battling against the demonic power within him.

He had tried to release the curse, but it was too late!

The tables had turned.

Before he was trying to control and contain Felicia's magic so he could use it as he desired, but the power was as unstable as her state of mind.

It kept trying to pull away from him.

Now it had coiled around his very soul and was devouring through the bindings of his essence!

His entire body was burning up.

Felicia's curse was relentless.

Matthew felt as if he'd been throw into a flaming pit.

The demonic magic flowing through his veins was being purged at an accelerated rate.

Soon all that would be left was the man himself and he knew that he alone would not be able to survive!

-------

Miles away Helena gasped in pain as she felt a sharp jolt in her chest.

She collapsed from where she had been seated next to the queen in Constantine's bed chamber.

Maids rushed to her and the queen's teary eyes looked to her shock.

"Helena! What's wrong with you?" The queen was horrified that niece too had been hit with the curse!

Helena she gritted her teeth, her nails digging into the flesh of her chest as slow building scream built in the back of her throat.

She never managed to get it out.

The next wave of pain was so immense, her rolled back into her head and she fainted.

The frantic maids caught her before her head hit the ground.

The queen dropped to her knees next to niece and wailed in pain when she saw blood coming out from Helena's nose.

"No! No! Not you too! Goddess, have mercy!"

The witch had unknowingly lost her black magic.

-------

Back inside the underground demonic prayer room, the Pope was dead.

The curse had exploded out of him, effectively blasting his entire body into pieces and sending massive shockwaves of magic through the earth and stone.

The entire cathedral shook!
