Chapter 5 - Experiencing the Characters

Dixie and Bonnie were both in dream hell.

They were sharing the same dream but were trapped in different people.

While Dixie was hypnotized by the plight of the female lead, Bonnie gravitated towards the older brother.

Dixie's heart and soul bled as she saw everything through Felicia's eyes. Watching her mother die, the unfair accusation, her father's cold eyes, being discarded, the blatant disrespect from low level servants, the whispers, the gossip, being made the black sheep of the Del Montague family, the arrival of her evil step-mother and step-sister, the manipulations, the brainwashing, the slander, the schemes, being locked up, starving, crying, so much crying, the admonishments, the slaps, being bullied everywhere she went, the unfair judgements and ultimately execution by fire for a crime she never committed.

Poor girl. How could people be so cruel? So blind? Accusing the one suffering of causing suffering?

And that step-sister Helena was nothing short of a monster! A nightmare that descended upon Felicia like a plague!

Bonnie, in some ways, had a far more unpleasant experience. She was made to feel all of brother Alexander's emotions and rationalizations. She had to watch the way this man avoided his own blood sister as if she were a disease. He hated her so much! He aided in the destruction of her life simply because he favored his adoptive sister. He was convinced Helena was an innocent and sweet soul who could do no wrong. His mind was warped by the manipulative and honey-poisoned tongues of his step-mother and her devil spawn. He always believed them. He didn't even try to understand his sister's side.

He discarded all of his mother's teachings only 6 months after her funeral. Even as me missed her and longed for her, he effectively did nothing more than dishonor her memory.

He was convinced Felicia had killed their own mother whom she loved so much! Whom she had no reason to ever have hurt.

Even though the incident was marked as an accident and it was accepted that Felicia had not caused intentional harm; she was still called a curse and a monster for it.

By the her father as well as her brother.

Both men were complete idiots in sore need of some punches!

When the dream finally ended, Bonnie let out an audible cry of relief.

Eyes snapping open, she panted hard as sweat poured down her. Taking in the familiar and comforting sight of their darkened apartment, she tossed off the blanket covering her heated body.

She turned to her side and saw that Dixie was also awake and drenched in sweat.

Before either one could speak they were distracted by a strange sound coming from the kitchen.
