"Speaking of which, where's your dad? You've never mentioned him..."
On the tourist street of Grove 40, Liam was devouring a "Great Meat Skewer" from a roadside stall. He popped the entire thing into his mouth, leaving only a toothpick-like wooden skewer.
Robin held 4 or 5 balloon-shaped bubbles, each filled with the various trinkets and snacks they had bought on their walk from Grove 44 to Grove 40.
She looked up, surprised. "My dad... isn't you?"
Liam: ...
"Let's go, Dad, I'll take you on the Ferris wheel..." Robin mused, stroking her chin with a thoughtful expression. "Did I misremember?"
Liam: ......
He casually grabbed an ice cream from a roadside stall and shoved it into Robin's mouth. He had just blurted out something offhand, and as expected, the sly elder sister had turned it into a teasing moment...
Her soft, pink tongue emerged, meticulously licking the ice cream from around her plump, red lips...
As she ate, Robin said wistfully, "I've never met my father... I heard he was a colleague of Mom's on her archaeology team and died in an accident during one of her earlier expeditions. Now that I think about it, the reason Mom left me alone at home was probably that she never expected to come back alive."
"Going to sea, or doing archaeology... both are incredibly dangerous," Robin said, shaking her head as she silently ate her ice cream.
Liam didn't say anything. He ruffled the hair Robin had painstakingly styled to match Jolyne's and grinned. "Let's go. The bridge to Grove 39 is just ahead!"
The archipelago, composed of 79 Groves, was interconnected by bridges between each pair.
"Which Groves is Sabaody Park located on?"
After finishing her ice cream, Robin smiled. "Groves 32 through 34 are all connected."
They stepped onto the bridge and walked away side-by-side... well, not exactly side-by-side, given their height difference.
"Those two..." A Marine patrolling the shopping street on Grove 40 watched the tall and short figures receding across the bridge, puzzled. "That combination... it feels vaguely familiar..."
His colleague had already grabbed a Den Den Mushi, his face grave. "It's definitely those two from the JoJo Pirates! They've arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago and are heading to Grove 39. All units, be on high alert!"
...
"The number of Marines nearby has increased."
Grove 35 also had a park, though it wasn't as large-scale as the one on Grove 39.
After wandering for a while, Robin pointed to the flowerbeds in the park and casually said to Liam, "It seems they've spotted us."
While they weren't the type to stick to the same unchanging style of dress, even with their brown sunglasses, their distinctive features made them stand out too much.
One was stunningly beautiful, the other strikingly handsome.
The handsome one was tall and upright, radiating confidence and an extraordinary presence.
Even alone, he would have been instantly memorable in any crowd...
Let alone walking with Robin. This pair of strikingly distinctive man and woman, strolling through the "legal zones" of Sabaody Archipelago, where Marine soldiers patrolled everywhere to maintain order, were bound to be recognized.
Liam said, "Don't mind them."
Leaving the small park on Grove 35, they crossed the bridge into the Range on Grove 34.
Before long, the scene before them suddenly opened up, revealing a massive, colorful, fairytale-like Sabaody Amusement Paradise not far ahead.
The amusement park buzzed with activity, both inside and out, a vibrant spectacle of life.
Countless wild bubbles rose from the ground, ascending slowly like festive fireworks and fluttering ribbons.
People bustled through, each holding bubble balloons filled with their purchases. Shopping here meant no more bags to carry—just toss your items into a bubble and trail it along, making shopping effortless and fun.
Various styles of bubble transportation vehicles also dotted the landscape.
"Bubble culture is so fascinating," Robin said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"May I?"
Standing before the lively entrance to Sabaody Amusement Paradise, Liam swept his hand in a gentlemanly gesture, offering his arm to Robin.
Robin smiled and reached for his arm, then let out a surprised "Ah!" as Liam lifted her entirely, cupping her bottom and tossing her onto his shoulder.
"Heh heh heh..."
Perched on Liam's shoulder, Robin seemed to become much livelier, her smile brighter than usual.
Meanwhile, the Marines watching them from a distance wore gloomy expressions.
"Are these two really just here to sightsee in Paradise?"
"They're laughing so happily... How wicked. They're pirates, after all..."
"Just two of them, and their bounties combined exceed 700 million... Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if we're in Paradise or the New World..."
"Have you ever seen rookies like this before?"
"You call this a rookie?"
The Marines whispered amongst themselves, a way to relieve the heavy pressure weighing on their hearts.
'Of course, they felt pressure.' Marines were human too, flesh and blood. Stalking two Great Pirates at such close range was extremely dangerous. If these pirates suddenly went berserk, the Marines would have to be the first to intervene.
If they clashed with those two pirates, the outcome for these Marines seemed obvious... :(
The leading Marine ignored the whispers and simply ordered, "Keep a close watch. If they make any suspicious moves, contact the base immediately. If the situation escalates... you can even notify Headquarters!"
"Dozens more Marines have been added to the surveillance."
Robin climbed to a vantage point and gazed out at the perimeter of Sabaody Paradise, murmuring softly.
The massive Ferris wheel slowly rotated...
Each cabin of the Ferris wheel was also made of a giant bubble. There were about 14-15 bubble cabins arranged vertically, and all the tourists inside the bubbles, as well as passersby on the ground and some staff, were staring in astonishment at the bubble cabin that had just reached the very top.
"Are those two... sitting on top of the bubble instead of inside it?"
"How bold! They'd be in for a nasty fall if they slipped..."
Liam and Robin sat side-by-side on the top of a bubble cabin of the Ferris wheel. Robin was leisurely admiring the panoramic view of the entire Sabaody Paradise when she suddenly noticed Liam seemed to be searching for something, with a slightly disappointed expression.
"Looking for Rayleigh? Didn't find him?" she asked with a smile.
Liam shook his head and muttered to himself, "It feels like I haven't really come here unless I get to see a Celestial Dragon... But I haven't encountered a single one on the way. I was hoping to catch one to play with..."
"..." Robin broke out in a cold sweat. 'I really underestimated you.'
