Chapter 3 - Talent Awakening Ceremony

Regaining his demeanor he turned his attention to the intimidating looking man standing before him.

'Finally!' He thought feeling the pressure but elation at finally meeting his father.

The man stood at a 196cm tall and looked to be in his mid thirties with his short slick blonde hair

that had streaks of white. Along with his indifferent handsome visage and his light blue eyes that seemed to look down on everything all together it gave him a dominating like aura. A sleek vest with gold designs engraved into it and the man's hands were placed behind his back as his sharp gaze then settled on boy that was walking towards him.

This man is one of the strongest beings in the world and the ruler of the strongest empire in the human territory, The Eversky Empire. Kurao looks at the man straight in the eyes for a few seconds trying to show his confidence before quickly giving a slight bow.

"I Kurao Kaine, greets the Emperor!"

Kurao raises his eyes a little to sneak a peek at the Emperor but the latter catches him. He stares straight right back into Kurao eyes for a moment.

Kurao body who was starting to tremble in the presence of the man, but before his legs buckle in Kurao averts his eyes then stands straight to avoid the gazes of the gathering.

Seeing this the Emperor eyes flicker for a split second then returning to being indifferent.

"Well boy you got some guts. The reason you have guts is the fact you made me wait as I have a country to run, but lets get this over quickly as I am already running behind schedule. We will test your elemental affinity, and if you are talented enough I will fund your training, but I won't waste my Empire's resources on you if you have nothing worth cultivating. I am not running a charity even if you are my blood. I have better things to do then watch over my children awaken their elements and if I take time out of my schedule to watch over this you better not make me waste my time."

Vayla the woman who brought Kurao just pitifully looked at Kurao, knowing it's not his fault they are late.

Kurao looks at the Emperor feeling a little dejected over his words since they haven't talked since he was born, but doesn't let it waver his resolve to show how gifted he is and just looks expectantly, and as if on queue the Emperor pulls out a translucent orb the size of a adult head.

"Now place your hand on the orb and feel for anything and try to mentally pull whatever that feeling or sensation out. After the ball will shine, depending on how full it gets will translate to how much you connect to the origin of the element and what grade of talent you have."

Hearing the instructions, Kurao gathering his courage demolishes any lingering fear he has as he strides towards the orb before placing his hand on the orb and closes his eyes trying to sense anything.

Moments pass as everyone in the hall stopped talking moments earlier when the emperor was talking and been quiet since, they were looking forward to see how full the orb will get and seeing the talent to come out of the progeny of the child's mother and the Emperor.

Since most people in the room knew how talented the Emperor is as well as how gifted Kurao's mother was.

Kurao on the other hand was trying to sense anything, but suddenly feels his mind wander and loses all sense of touch and hearing while seeing nothing but a black void. Startled he remembers the instructions and tries to feel for anything, searching for anything in the empty pitch black area slowly regaining his calm.

Soon he starts feeling a cool sensation from a direction in the pitch black area, after feeling the success of feeling the sensation he focuses on the direction of the it and the more he focuses towards the cooling air feeling the area get colder.

More and more he embraces the cooling feeling as the black he was seeing for a while starts turning white and the colder his body feels. Feeling his body freezing he opens his eyes as the whole hall is blasted by a freezing breeze.

In the Grand Hall, frost starts to form on the walls with 3 cm thick ice, while the ground starts freezing the soles of the spectators in the large hall. After the frost reaches the ankles' of the Emperor he quickly releases a hot air blast dissolving all the frost around him.

When this all happened everyone in the hall gasp in surprise as their eyes were wide open over the amount of frost that formed and elemental energy in the hall, and even some people started to yelp over how instantly the room turned into a icebox, but when the Emperor blasted another gust of air and the frost vanishes with a torrent of cold wind like it was never there but the elemental energy still lingers in the hall giving a slight chill to the room.

After the environmental ice was gone everyone's eyes bulged upon seeing the elemental orb that was testing Kurao's talent!

The Emperor looks at the orb with slight surprise that could be seen visibly in his eyes while turning his attention to Kurao with a small almost unnoticeable smile that crept on his face,

'This boy is talented like no other in this realm!' but before anyone could see his face goes back to being indifferent but his eyes still glimmer while looking at Kurao.

'If he grows up right he will become a powerhouse that can achieve my dream. But sadly I don't specialize in ice..'

The Emperor inwardly sighs over that fact, but turned his attention back to the orb.

The orb was full of silverish-blue transparent mana glowing feverishly seemingly leaking the excess silverish-blue mana then.. The orb shatters as pieces of the orb fall to the floor further shattering into even smaller pieces then creating a still silence.

All of the people gathered stare in awe at Kurao some even rapidly blinking their eyes trying to see if what they witness was all real over the expectation exceeding results of Kurao's elemental affinity.
