Just as Michael was about to begin his assault on the Devil Realm, he noticed nine figures separating from the army behind them and moving forward.
Seven of them were familiar.
Asmodeus.
Belphegor.
Beelzebub.
Satan.
Lucifer.
Mammon.
And Leviathan.
The remaining two were humans.
Michael's eyes narrowed.
'Should I attack?'
The two humans were variables he hadn't accounted for. Their abilities were unknown, and allowing them to approach without knowing what they were capable of would be unwise.
Before he could make a decision, however, Gabriel's voice entered his ears.
"Let them approach."
Michael immediately understood.
He nodded and lowered his spear, calming the Divine Instruments with a wave of his hand.
"I thought they would attack."
Leviathan mused as she flew through space at the head of their little delegation.
Of course, there was no way she actually believed that dialogue would resolve anything.
