The first thing Lucas saw when he opened his eyes was the figure of the time god looking down at him with a faint frown.
Lucas had never been a particularly devout person. Even after witnessing the existence of gods and seeing the power they wielded, reverence never truly took root in his heart. Gods were powerful, yes. Terrifying, yes. But they were still beings with thoughts and motives, and that meant they could be understood.
But the moment he saw the smile slowly spreading across Kranos's face, that belief shattered.
Kronos—or at least the being who called himself Kranos—stood above him with an expression that could only be described as disappointed amusement.
The kind someone would wear after finishing a boring story.
