Oh? There's Slashy with her as well. Did they not get separated? Or did it happen only to me? Leyvi wondered.
Leyvi hadn't expected Valenia to be the closest to the colossal tree out of all the Leyan Family members. At her current pace, it probably wouldn't take more than four or five months before she reached its base.
Hmm...Anda has seven people in her group while Valenia has eight. Wait a minute. They are all ladies! Why am I the only one stuck with a guy? This arrangement is not fair at all. Leyvi shook his head mentally.
Leyvi observed Valenia again.
But why is she annoyed right now? Is it because of that woman talking nonstop beside her?
Leyvi chuckled inwardly. He had teased Valenia enough to recognize her annoyed body language, even if her expression stayed stoic. She really couldn't escape the fate of being pestered by others.
Having locked down Anda's location earlier, Leyvi now roughly mapped Valenia's position in his mind as well. It was imprecise, but good enough to know the general area.
With his spiritual sense covering the entire world, Leyvi found that, although his area of focus was limited, once he pinpointed a location, he immediately understood its general direction and distance relative to his current position. In fact, every place he had visited before stood out clearly to him. His directional and positional awareness were functioning remarkably well, even on such a massive scale.
It's like being in a room. You can't stare at everything at once, but once you've seen the objects inside, you remember where the door, the window, and everything else is, even if you're not looking at them.
In short, Leyvi's spiritual sense was limited in terms of real-time monitoring and detail resolution, but not when it came to spatial memory or orientation.
Do I still have time for this? he wondered. It's lasting longer than I expected.
If there's still time, then show me where Stripey is next! he commanded inwardly.
Sure enough, his spiritual vision shifted once more. The movement slowed, and his focus narrowed in on a vast savanna.
Leyvi's spatial awareness instantly confirmed that this wasn't the same savanna he had visited before. This one was located on the opposite side of the colossal tree from where he currently was.
Leyvi's spiritual vision locked onto a towering rock formation rising from the golden grasses of the savanna like a throne carved by the world itself. It was a broad, steep promontory jutting out horizontally from a cliff, its edge sheer and weathered by time. The surface bore ancient cracks and grooves, etched by generations of wind and sun, giving it a timeless, almost regal presence. It stood tall above the surrounding plains, commanding attention like a natural monument to power.
All around its base, demonic beasts were gathering. The beasts assembled in a wide circle, silent and strangely orderly, as though attending a summit of their own kind.
Then, his spiritual vision zoomed in closer to the rock formation, and when Leyvi saw what was happening, he became dumbfounded.
At the very top of the stone ledge stood a bison, his hulking form silhouetted by the midday sun. He stood tall and unmoving, like a living statue carved from muscle and pride, his thick fur ruffling in the breeze as he surveyed the gathered beasts below with calm authority.
Next to the bison was a large, beautiful red fox carrying a small monkey on its back. The small monkey, with stripes around its face, lay lazily, enjoying the soft, fluffy fur.
On the bison's left stood a demonic mandrill, its deep crimson and gray fur striking under the sun. It leaned slightly on a heavy wooden staff, watching over the crowd with a wise and weathered gaze.
Leyvi blinked.
What's going on? What is this scene? What am I witnessing? Why are the demonic beasts paying respect to the delusional Mr. Bison? Is there a retard virus pandemic happening here? I'm relieved that the three of them were together and safe, but this scene doesn't make sense at all. Can somebody explain it to me?
It's too bad his spiritual hearing wasn't enhanced. He was curious to know what Mr. Bison was saying to them right now.
Something significant must have happened for his spirit beasts to be treated with high regard like this. But what?
In any case, there wasn't enough time to figure it out now. He had more people to find before this window closed. After he had reunited with the others, he would come to this savanna and pick them up.
With that thought, Leyvi focused again. He immediately wished to see another person.
Let me see Victor Goldstone! he commanded inwardly.
Although he wasn't familiar at all with his brother-in-law, with their conversations amounting to only a few sentences, he was still Selene's brother. Additionally, Magnus had requested to look after Victor if possible.
If Victor were still alive, Leyvi wouldn't mind searching for him. But if he had already died for some reason, then he could only offer condolences to Selene and Magnus. At least he would have died doing his best to fulfill his goal.
As usual, the focus shifted again.
Leyvi felt somewhat relieved. Since it shifted, that meant Victor should still be alive.
Moments later, the view stopped. It was night.
The location was quite high, several kilometers above sea level. A mountain forest shrouded in thick mist and low-lying clouds.
A cloud forest.
Eh? This place... It's quite close to where I am right now! His spatial awareness instantly mapped the area and judged the distance.
His spiritual vision pierced through the thick mist and came to a stop. Leyvi observed the scene, aided only by the pale moonlight. All he could see were trees, insects, and an abundance of moss.
Huh? Where is he? I don't see Brother Victor anywhere. Did my super-enhanced spiritual sense malfunction or something?
Leyvi carefully scanned the area again. His spiritual sense had brought his focal awareness here, so Victor had to be nearby.
Wait… don't tell me he died here or something? A slight unease crept into Leyvi's chest. Please don't. Come on, Victor, you insisted on coming here. You should've brought something to keep yourself alive, right?
He frowned. Something was off.
Hmm? There was a barely noticeable change in one of the trees' positions. That one… right there. His vision zoomed in.
What the—this tree is fake! It's a disguise! Leyvi burst into laughter. Hahaha! This must be Brother-in-law Victor! As I thought, there's no way he came here unprepared.
Still, Leyvi couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. What a weird way to move around. Did he bring this disguise with him? Or is it some kind of technique? Is he on a stealth mission or something?
He had so many questions.
Fortunately, Victor's location wasn't far away from him. Only a slight detour from his path to Anda. Leyvi made his decision on the spot that he would pick up Victor first later. While Victor clearly had some odd methods, moving around like that in an area swarming with strong demonic beasts had to be difficult.
I still don't understand how coming to the Mystic Realm is supposed to help him grow taller, Leyvi mused. But I respect the man's tenacity.
Alright. Let's check someone else next. Hmm… who else am I familiar with? Oh right. Show me where Lin Wei's location is.
Leyvi's spiritual vision shifted once more, pulling his awareness toward a region bathed in daylight. As the blur settled, the view slowed near a large pyramid rising in the middle of a vast desert, its height around fifty meters above ground.
Leyvi blinked. A pyramid?
Leyvi was quite familiar with pyramids. Some big-shot cultivators of the Cloud Continent in the past, who died from old age, preferred to be buried in a pyramid as their tomb, bringing their riches with them. Not necessarily in a desert, though. They even went as far as building their pyramids full of deadly traps to kill intruders. There were stories about people getting killed while tomb raiding all the time.
Lin Wei is here? Is he tomb raiding or something? This pyramid doesn't look that big... Leyvi commented inwardly.
However, Leyvi had to eat his words because when his spiritual vision continued going into the pyramid, it went deeper and deeper, stopping a kilometer deep from ground level.
Fuck! How big is this pyramid? The majority of it is buried under the desert. There should be many amazing treasures, right?
Leyvi then focused his awareness on Lin Wei, who was seated cross-legged on an altar etched with intricate, glowing patterns. A rich flow of spiritual energy coursed through those patterns, channeling directly into Lin Wei's body in a steady, pulsing rhythm.
The chamber was vast, its stone walls covered with murals depicting unknown scenes, probably fragments of some forgotten tale. Leyvi couldn't decipher their meaning, nor guess what kind of history or significance they might hold.
What truly caught him off guard, though, was the presence of two familiar figures beside Lin Wei. His wives, Lana Rod and Angela Wight, were also in the chamber, each meditating on their own altar. Just like Lin Wei's, their platforms bore different arrays of patterns, though similarly connected to the energy lines woven into the chamber.
What the—he already found them? Leyvi blinked. Were they not separated when they got teleported into the Mystic Realm like the rest of us? That's weird...
