Chapter 135 - Life of the Gifted (3)

In fact, things didn't change when he was born.

They began to change when Horo was first conceived.

First, his mother began to feel a transformation within her body, soul, and most importantly, her gift.

The reason she was able to survive a growing calamity like Horo, a baby who unintentionally killed every mother he was supposed to ever have, was because of her gift.

Her Gift, The Darkest Knight, was able to form a very beneficial symbiotic relationship with Horo's entire existence.

The tree of tragedy in particular did something extremely unexpected.

For once, it counted Horo and his mother as one being due to the symbiotic relationship. Her gift was on the negative side of the spectrum, allowing for the tree of tragedy to "misunderstand".

It not only nurtured Horo, granting the benefits it does every life, but it also began nurturing his mother, granting the same benefits.

It changed her skeletal; one of her violet eyes became a black, dark abyss, and exactly half of her violet hair on one side became abyssal black light swallowing threads.

One would be wrong thinking she didn't receive all of the innate benefits Horo did from the tree of tragedy.

No, the remaining innate benefits found their way to her peak rank six gift, something that should have been impossible.

Before Horo's mother, Tey Gemma, her gift was a set of knight armor with a sword and a lion as a mount, all made of pure darkness.

Now the armor looked vividly defined and is composed of pure dark diamond.

Her mount was no longer a simple lion made of pure darkness, but instead, it was a very detailed griffin-like creature, with front talons made of pure dark diamond.

And the sword was much more majestic; the hilt being made of extremely small dark chains of damnation, with one large chain dangling from it, while the actual sword was made of dark diamond as well.

The new diamond properties of her gift come from Horo's bloodline. It allowed her gift to have a second awakening, allowing it to have a new trait related to their bloodline.

After Horo was born, she immediately broke through to rank seven, mid-rank seven at that.

Horo's gift benefited from hers as well.

His gift is the Ruby Sky Heart. It gives him the ability to make crystallized objects, and he was the first person to ever awaken his gift at birth.

His origin-bound manifestation, something all rank four gift holders had, is the Ruby Sky Armor, the first weapon-related gift manifestation in his family for decades.

They became certain that his second awakening will grant another weapon-related manifestation.

He is the prodigy this family needed.

Not only did he know it, even the entire family knew it, so there was no rejection to any major resources requested from Horo's father.

Speaking of resources and support, Horo's father arranged for him to enter a Fairy Tail Grade Fantasy Zone within their territory.

Even though they were a glorious family, they couldn't monopolize this grade of Fantasy Zone because their family might not even have someone qualified for the blessing.

There is an arrangement understood by all families and powers regarding Fantasy Zones.

If a Fantasy Zone of superior grade or more was discovered, it couldn't be monopolized no matter whose territory it appeared because it was better for the entire human race that way.

Blessings aren't guaranteed in higher-grade Fantasy Zones, and the requirements to receive one are usually outrageous.

Once the Gemma family finished evaluating the list of everyone who would be entering the Fantasy Zone, they immediately set off for it.

Of course, they didn't send Horo alone; they made sure to send some type of protection.

Horo's big brother and cousin both entered alongside him, while the patriarch made it very clear they were only support for Horo.

His big brother was a beginner rank six gifted and his cousin was a fairytale level blessing holder, they should be able to protect Horo because the age limit is thirty two and both of them are only twenty nine.

They are both extremely talented, not to far behind Horo, but their lineage had a problem exceeding beyond rank six proven by how their family hasn't had a rank seven powerhouse in a century plus.

Though they are prodigies, there will also be entries from other families and powers just as talented entering the fantasy zone.

The competition inside the zone will be cutthroat level and in all honesty he couldn't truly trust his brother and cousin either.

Yet, this Horo did, not the one currently riding passenger, but Horo Gemma.

Horo Gemma is a little naive with a pure heart. His father and mother taught him nearly everything, but they never truly allowed him to witness the true evils of the world such as betrayal.

Something that would be the bringer of tragedy for this life….
