Chapter 4274: Mutual Destruction
The World Tree used its own roots and branches to form a tree warrior.
Its combat power was slightly weaker than that of the war array giants, topping out at half step Chaos Realm.
However, it could channel the Vast World's power borrowing domain force from the Vast World allowing its strike force to rival the war array giants.
Most importantly, Lin Moyu had handed the Catastrophic Scepter to the World Tree.
The Catastrophic Scepter wasn't an item just anyone could wield; the World Tree was among the rare few capable of using it.
The World Tree was Lin Moyu's innate divine tree essentially an extension of himself so with his permission there was no issue in wielding the Catastrophic Scepter.
The Fifth Generation Heavenly Void Palace Master, locked in battle and surrounded, had no idea what was happening outside his battlefield.
Because of the Sky Dome War Array, he could not break out of the encirclement quickly and was forced to fight against the formation itself.
In that moment, the World Tree swung the Catastrophic Scepter.
The simplest use of the Catastrophic Scepter was one word: smash.
No technique or flourish just a direct, crushing blow.
Amidst the encirclement, the Palace Master suddenly saw the enormous Catastrophic Scepter descending, shattering the firmament and suppressing all Daos as it came down straight at his head.
He roared, raising his chaos war weapon to meet it. In his mind, his chaos battleblade was unrivaled within the domain; no matter what artifact was used, he could shatter it.
Unfortunately for him, he was wrong. Just like smashing tofu, the Catastrophic Scepter utterly obliterated his chaos blade.
"Impossible!"
With that cry, the Catastrophic Scepter smashed down on him.
His chaos armor first caved in, then exploded with a bang. A scream rang out as the Palace Master was shattered into pieces flying in all directions.
The World Tree swept the Scepter back, while Lin Moyu's offensive didn't relent.
"Erase them!"
The undead minions and war array giants struck together, grinding down the Palace Master's fragments.
As a Chaos Realm powerhouse, he couldn't be killed so easily; the Scepter had only smashed him apart, not ended him.
Covered in faint light, each fragment sprouted countless threads that wove into flesh and reassembled into tens of thousands of miniature Palace Masters.
These tiny versions tore into the undead army small yet strong ripping countless holes in their ranks in moments.
"As expected, not easy to kill."
Lin Moyu wasn't surprised this was still a Chaos Realm master, hardly an easy foe to finish.
Using the opportunity from the Catastrophic Scepter's blow, the Palace Master split himself apart and broke through the encirclement of undead and formations, instantly teleporting through the void to appear before Lin Moyu reversing the situation to trap Lin Moyu instead.
The miniatures all exploded into filaments again, aiming to bore into the Ferry of Tribulation.
He was targeting the Ferry's only weakness getting inside to kill Lin Moyu personally.
Lin Moyu snorted coldly, and a brilliant light burst forth.
Bathed in the light, the Palace Master was forced back into his original form, his fine threads coalescing into his full body once again.
On the Catastrophic Scepter, the soul gem glittered the light just now had been a soul attack.
When the Palace Master split apart, his soul also fractured and weakened, unable to block the soul gem's strike.
With a grave expression, he stared at the Ferry of Tribulation, shock in his eyes. "What kind of artifact is that?"
His soul had been wounded in that exchange.
Anything that could directly harm his soul was no common item.
Lin Moyu smiled faintly. "Doesn't matter what artifact it is if it can kill you, it's a good one."
With a thought, he unleashed the soul gem's power again, slamming another soul shock into the Palace Master eliciting another grunt.
Over the years, Lin Moyu had studied the core formation of the Catastrophic Scepter and gained some insights, learning partial uses of several gems.
Though still only scratching the surface, it already had significant utility.
For example, he could use the soul gem for soul shocks devastating to same realm opponents and even harmful to those a realm higher.
Now, against the Palace Master, the results were satisfying even he could not withstand it.
The World Tree held the Scepter and kept triggering the soul gem, bombarding the Palace Master's soul.
Forced to endure one shock after another, the Palace Master was visibly suffering.
Powerful as he was, he had no answer to this straightforward but brutal style of attack.
"You just wait I won't spare you!"
He was angry, growling low, but there was helplessness in his tone.
In truth, he had lost this battle, completely suppressed by Lin Moyu; continuing was pointless.
Since he couldn't do anything to Lin Moyu right now, it was better to retreat and find another chance later.
As long as he lived, Lin Moyu could forget about becoming domain lord…
Lin Moyu snorted. "You want to leave? Dream on."
The element gem thrummed to life, flaring brightly silencing the void, scattering all elemental forces the Great Dao vanished.

Without the Great Dao, he could only move on his base physical strength, his speed drastically slower.
The Sky Dome War Array struck as well the "Fix" rune flashing. Even with the Great Dao expelled, the rune still worked somewhat.
The Palace Master was held again; he tried to flee, but his speed was now painfully slow.
"What is this?!"
He cried out, fear creeping in the Catastrophic Scepter's weirdness surpassed his imagination.
The element gem didn't distinguish between friend and foe Lin Moyu and the undead were affected too.
But Lin Moyu had the Vast World to draw strength from, though this power couldn't leave his body.
The World Tree, likewise, moved in swinging the Catastrophic Scepter down.
The Palace Master yelped and backed away; he didn't dare meet the Scepter head on after the previous encounter he knew he couldn't take it.
But the World Tree gave him no room to dodge countless branches tangled forward, binding him.
He tore them apart with his own strength, but more came endlessly, and his already reduced speed dropped further.
In the end, he couldn't avoid the Scepter his body was smashed to pieces again.
The fragments turned to miniatures, scattering in all directions.
The soul gem flared again a soul shock rippled out, forcibly reassembling him into his original form.
When he split into miniatures, his soul also split making him extremely vulnerable to the gem's strikes and at risk of serious injury or even death.
Hounded by the World Tree, the Palace Master was battered into a sorry state chaos qi exhausted, chaos armor shattered, tricks all but gone.
Cornered, he roared, "Don't push me, or we'll die together!"
Lin Moyu snorted, "Die with me? You're not qualified."
The World Tree didn't slow; the Palace Master roared, "Then let's die together!"
