Chapter 4248 - 4248

Chapter 4248: One Generation After Another

The First Generation Domain collapsed and shattered, its domain seed transforming into the Second Generation Heavenly Void Palace. Heavenly Void Son's body became a statue, all of his power drawn in, as if he had fallen into a deep slumber.

Yet, a thread of his will followed the domain seed onward, not dissipating.

The Second Generation Heavenly Void Palace appeared, the palace master was born and began to cultivate and evolve within, burdened with a great mission. From the moment of his birth, he already possessed Great Dao Chaos Realm strength.

But he too was limited unable to take a single step outside the Heavenly Void Palace.

Inside the palace, he completed his mission, continuing the work of evolving the domain.

But the cornerstone for evolving the domain was always the domain seed created by Heavenly Void Son.

Only, in this second cycle of evolution, the chaotic qi was no longer as rich as before. The Second Generation Palace Master could only imitate his version of chaos was far weaker than the real thing.

Under his management, a second generation domain gradually took shape. As it evolved, the palace master weakened. Once the formation was complete, the Second Generation Palace Master perished.

The Heavenly Void Son's will emerged from the fading force, turning into a plaque at first, the plaque bore the words for the "Seat of the Heavenly Void Master."

This plaque was not a memorial tablet for the dead, but the solidified will of Heavenly Void Son a part of his soul.

Yet, like the Second Gen Palace Master, it too could not leave, nor return home.

The second generation domain, though only an imitation of chaos qi, was still incomparably powerful and gave rise to several transcenders.

Without exception, all these transcenders were taken away by the Green robed and White robed Elders.

Until the domain weakened, a sigh came from the plaque: "The next generation, then."

The voice was laden with helplessness; he had hoped for something, but it never came to pass.

With those words, the Second Generation Domain collapsed, the domain seed reappeared.

Clearly weakened, no longer as powerful as before, the seed flew away from the heavenly palace, heading toward distant lands.

At this point, a black and white orb flew from the First Generation Palace.

Now Lin Moyu finally understood the origin of that orb it was the third eye of Heavenly Void Son.

Heavenly Void Son had a third eye at his brow, but Lin Moyu didn't know if it was an innate trait or achieved through cultivation, only that it was unimaginably powerful.

Now, that third eye transformed into an orb and followed the domain seed into the distance, eventually landing in another region.

The Third Generation Heavenly Void Palace rose from the ground; simultaneously, the Second Gen Palace was thoroughly destroyed.

Within the Third Gen Palace, a new palace master was born, one who wielded the orb and harnessed the power of yin and yang, using the domain seed as a foundation to evolve the third generation domain.

This time, the chaotic qi was used up the primary force now was yin and yang.

And though yin and yang are derived from chaos, they are not its equal. In addition, this was already the third iteration for the domain seed, which was, again, weaker than before.

Thus, the Third Generation Domain was not as powerful as the previous two.

But there was a benefit: without chaos qi shrouding everything, the Great Dao was revealed and cultivation became easier.

The number of cultivators in the third domain greatly surpassed previous generations; however, there were fewer transcenders, and those who reached similar realms were not as strong as before. The first generation had twelve transcenders, the second had eight, and this third generation only five all taken by the Green robed and White robed Elders.

With the appearance of five transcenders, the domain's power dropped sharply and could no longer produce new ones.

A sigh sounded: "It's fate."

This time the disappointment was even greater, with a hint of anxiety as well.

Heavenly Void Son probably realized that he was running out of chances; the domain seed was getting weaker, and with further evolutions, it might be impossible to produce even a single transcender.

Clearly, he was trying to use the evolution of the domain to achieve something, but it was not under his control he could only try, and try again, hoping and waiting.

So much had been sacrificed he'd risked even himself. If all failed, not even Heavenly Void Son could bear the price.

Yet Lin Moyu was turning over another question in his mind: Every generation's transcenders were being taken away by the Green robed and White robed Elders.

What exactly was the intention of these two Heavenly Supremes?

Was Heavenly Void Son acting of his own will, or was he forced into this by greater powers?

With the collapse of the Third Generation Domain, the domain seed flew out again; from the First Generation Palace, a Slumbering Coffin flew forth as well, accompanying the domain seed in the creation of the Fourth Gen Palace.

This time Lin Moyu saw clearly: Heavenly Void Son placed a portion of his own soul into the Slumbering Coffin.

"So, in the Slumbering Coffin was a piece of Heavenly Void Son's soul all along."

Now Lin Moyu finally had an answer his entire quest was to gather together these fragments: the soul, the third eye, and the plaque, in order to restore Heavenly Void Son's wholeness.

But there was a doubt: What was within that Slumbering Coffin he'd found in the mysterious garden so long ago?

If it was a fragment of Heavenly Void Son's soul, why did it end up in a mysterious garden, instead of being kept in one of the Heavenly Void Palaces?

The Fourth Generation Palace rose up, with a piece of Heavenly Void Son's soul as its core, and he continued the process again.

The fourth generation domain was dominated by the Five Elements Dao, yet each cycle was noticeably weakened from the last.

A vast number of cultivators sprang up in this world, their numbers peaking, but in the end only two managed to transcend.

Again, they were taken away by the Green robed and White robed Elders, and again, with a long sigh, Heavenly Void Son moved the process on.

The domain seed continued its journey, flying through the Heavenly Void Land, seeking a suitable site to create the Fifth Gen Palace.

At this time, yet another Slumbering Coffin shot forth again containing a fragment of Heavenly Void Son's soul.

But by now, most of his soul had been spent in the domain's evolution; only a trace remained for the fourth generation, a mere wisp for the fifth.

The Fifth Generation Palace emerged, starting the evolution of the current domain.

But just then, an accident occurred a power of unimaginable might crashed into the Heavenly Void Land, rending an enormous crack through it.

The blow nearly shattered the entire Heavenly Void Land. Sounds of fury echoed from the void; a titanic battle erupted Lin Moyu did not know who the combatants were.

The aftermath buffeted the Heavenly Void Land without end, plunging everything into chaotic turmoil.

The Heavenly Void Land still housed a sliver of Heavenly Void Son's soul. His flesh, too, remained in the First Gen Palace. With tremendous effort, he managed to rouse himself and stabilize the land.

But after this battle, Lin Moyu could clearly sense that the Heavenly Void Land had changed.

It seemed that Heavenly Void Son had truly fallen into slumber, losing his grip over the Heavenly Void Land and the process of domain evolution.

The Fifth Generation Palace Master, born out of this revolution, began to devise his own plans. When developing the fifth domain, he deliberately sent the Slumbering Coffin containing the residual soul into chaos itself.

He also began making preparations for his own escape.

It was clear the Fifth Gen Palace Master wanted to break free of his fate he had no desire to become yet another casualty in the endless sacrificial cycle of domain evolution.

He set up all manner of contingencies, withheld much of his power, and, using the chaos and confusion, sent his true self into the domain, hoping then to use the domain as a gateway to chaos. He also left behind an avatar, creating the illusion that his true body was dead.

Meanwhile, in the chaos of the Heavenly Void Land, another being who had long gained sentience began developing its own ambitions: the butler.

While these two were carrying out their secret plans, neither realized that in every single cycle of domain evolution, there were things happening outside their knowledge…
