The lobby went 'awwh' as Alec and Emma walked hand in hand to the elevator, they looked like an extraordinary power couple ready to take on the world. Everyone adores them. They stepped out of the elevator on the tenth floor where the meeting was being held still holding hands.
" Where is your office?."
Emma asked seeing neither the floors had occupied CEO's office despite them reaching the tenth floor. how big is this building?"
" It used to be on the tenth floor but was moved to the twentieth floor of the last building. Thought I needed more privacy."
He pulls her waist leading her to the conference room where everyone was waiting for their arrival. Including Ava and Zain who were partners on the project.
" Good morning ladies and gentlemen, we can begin." Alec sat in his front seat over looking everyone surrounding the long table.
" Matching your husband I see." Ava leaned in to whisper with a playful smile.
" He's matching me actually." Emma whispered back glancing at Alec who had his eyes fixed on her.
" Hm, cute."
Ava pulled back getting on her feet to begin her presentation.
" If I may have the boards attention." The room darkened and the projector screen appeared on the white board showing a full blueprint of the project.
" As you can see this is the full blueprint of the factory being built in two different states of the UK. Each factory has its own power supply and not only can it be accessed by wealthy people, but also the local... we've had some complaints in the past concerning our market prices and targets, this time we target both low and high class...all resources available to all. That's if we're all on the same page. Mr Qinn?."
Ava stood facing Alec who was listening intently.
" Sounds infficient to me. Great work, Mrs Woods."
" Thank you. Off to the next discussion."
The meeting went on for 2 and a half hours. Once concluded, the two best friends and their respectable wives stayed back while everyone life the conference room.
" We should do dinner, it's been a while we all sat together and enjoyed a meal." Emma suggested.
" That's a great idea, I feel like it's been a while I had a taste of great wine." Ava spoke.
" You had a glass like two days ago."
" That was two days ago baby." She defends herself.
Alec goes ahead and taps Zain's shoulder.
" Walk with me, brother."
They leave the ladies to take a stroll as they spoke.
" Tell me what you want." Zain smirked walking beside Alec in a straight casual posture.
" A favor."
" A favor?."
" My wedding anniversary is next week, I want something special planned for my darling wife. Like a nice restaurant with a romantic setting."
" Right, I got you." Zain spoke turning his head to the ladies as they approached.
" So will be at 9pm at our house."
" Perfect, no kids to interrupt us." Alec pulled Emma to his side with a playful smile.
" Trixie and Lucas will be joining us, this will be fun." Ava adds. " Emma and I will run a little errands for tonight so will see you guys later, bye babe." She kissed Zain on the cheek grabbing Emma by the hand and strode off.
" Won't your son be home?." Alec turned to Zain.
" He's at his grandparents for a couple of days."
...
Ava and Emma packed their car in the parking lot and went to get a couple of ingredients and food stuff inside the super market, they passed through the wine section and got a few bottles from there as well.
" Wanna grab something to eat I'm starving?." Ava rubs her stomach.
" Save your appetite for tonight."
" It's just a quick bite, won't kill anyone."
Emma shook her head surrendering. They packed their groceries in the back seat and walked over to a nearby cafe. Inside the cafe, Ava spotted a familiar face.
" Hey isn't that Julian? Look who he's with."
Emma spotted him with a young woman, they laughed so casually like they knew each other so well. They sat too close to one another and they way he looked at her? She's never seen him look at any other woman than her like that.
" Isn't that Winter? I never knew them to be this close." Ava adds as they looked at the two in the cafe from the outside being all cozy.
" Yeah, neither did I."
" Let's go, we can eat elsewhere."
" No! I don't mind."
Emma walked into the cafe with Ava trolling behind her. Julian instantly spotted Emma as soon as she walked in, how can he not recognize such a beauty in a place like this? She stood out wherever she went, wherever she stood... without even trying.
" Emma? Hey."
" Hi, surprising seeing you here."
They hug warmingly. " I bumped into Ms Bloom and offered to take a cup of coffee."
" Ah... that's what it is, you guys look like you're on a date of sort."
" Of course not." ! Winter hurried to say. " I mean, it's not like that...he was just being generous."
Emma raised a brow but said nothing, she simply returns her attention to Julian who looked thrilled to see her.
" Tomorrow is Alex's baseball practice, he wants you there."
" Of course, I did promise to take him at every practice."
" Thanks, I will see you tomorrow. Enjoy your coffee date."
" It's not a date."! Winter clutches the hen of her dress frustratingly. Emma scoffs turning her heels and walking away.
" You look offly annoyed back there."
" Of course not, he's allowed to hook up with anyone...who am I to say?."
" No one says they were hooking up, Em." Ava smugs.
Winter had her head hanging down the entire time, her hands clutched and subconscious numb, she wasn't being herself for some reason.
" Ms Bloom, are you okay?."
" T-this... isn't a date." She stammered shyly.
" I know, you've said that a couple of times... your face is burning a bright red."
" W-what! Don't be ridiculous, my face is fine."
Julian chuckled seeing her cuteness overload. He wanted to tease her more and unlock all the stages of her adorableness.
" You know, a date wouldn't be such a bad idea."
" Huh? Don't be absurd, i-i'm... I'm a... married woman."
Her voice lowered to approximately 1% of an surety. He knew to say she has absolutely no idea where she stands. Which is understandable, anyone would be confused in such a situation.
Julian reached out his hand to touch hers, a sense of friction sparked between their two fingers brushing together. Her green emerald eyes met his, it's the way he looked at her and kept his fingers brushing onto hers that made her entire body burn up.
" Uhm, sorry I didn't mean to- "
" No, no it's fine." She pulls back her hand tucking some strands of hair behind her ear. They continued to have a normal conversation without the teasing while enjoying a nice hot coffee.
Meanwhile,
Lucas hid something inside his pocket as soon as he heard a noise outside his bedroom door. Trixie walked in with a flow less strapless black dress that hugged her beautiful curves, with golden heels. She looked so damn beautiful with her hair laid back falling off her shoulders. He couldn't help staring at her with admiration.
" Wow, you look... absolutely gorgeous."
He takes her hand spinning her around and straight into his arms.
" Thank you. You look charming like always... except tonight, there's something different but I can't seem to pin it together." She smiles wrapping her arms around his neck.
" Oh yeah? How different?."
" I can't seem to pin it together, Mr Lucas Williams."
" Don't do that, Trix."
" Do what?."
" You know what you're doing, calling my full name like that. I don't want to ruin your pretty dress."
He lowered his hand to her lower body, gently scratching her thighs in a caressing manner. She bit her lip crashing her body with his, indicating she wants more of him. Lucas' breath came out shallow and heavy, she was driving him insane.
" I so badly want to pin you against the wall and f*CK you so hard." He whispered brushing his lips against her neck.
" What's stopping you?."
" Everything. I want everything to be perfect for you. You deserve that much from a man who put you through a tough time."
He caresses her face with his thumb. " We should get going."
He kissed the back of her hand with a gentle smile.
