Alix followed Vance's instructions and arrived at a large open grassy field. Several hundreds of other students were already here. The field was in the center of three large buildings. One of the buildings had blue coloration, one red and one green. Alix frowned at the sight.
'Are they separating the different spellcasters? Well, I guess that has some level of sense." Alix was uncomfortable with separating students just because they didn't use magic the same but maybe this made them easier to teach.
'That has to be it.' Alix recalled her own struggles trying to teach Eric and Cas. Teaching different theories and formations to Cas while researching how the Runic clan wielded their magic for Eric. It was very problematic.
After a few minutes several more students joined the large crowd. She could see Vance coming in next to what was likely that last student in line. The man somehow caught her gaze and nodded to her.
'I guess I really impressed him?' The man seemed strangely happy to see her. Alix decided to pay him no mind as she now also spotted one other acquaintance dashing over to her.
"Mama Wolf! You did make it!" Eric came to a sliding stop just two meters away from Alix. "Did you end up finding a place to spend the night?" Alix took a step back to space herself.
"It took some work but I found a rather comfortable place to stay. How did your test go?" Eric flinched when the test was mentioned.
"Oh, the test? You mean the one that we just took? Well, I'm B1 so I did pretty good." Alix nodded and looked to the boy's shirt but couldn't see his badge. Eric's hand was blocking it.
"What color are you?"
"Hmm?" Alix gestured to the surrounding students.
"Your badge color? You know the thing that determines what building you go to? I have no idea where they would put a Rune Possessor."
"Well about that..." Eric chuckled nervously until he locked eyes with Alix. He then sighed dejectedly and revealed a red badge on his chest.
"Oh! So they have you down as a sorcerer?" Eric nodded slowly.
"Yeah. I'm sorry-Wait sorcerer?" Alix cocked her head to the side.
"I wonder how they came to that conclusion? I would have believed they put you into the Cleric classes." Eric was incredibly confused.
"Cleric classes? What are you-"
"Excuse me?" Alix felt a hand on her shoulder. She brushed the hand off and refocused on Eric.
"That was rude. I'm trying to have a conversation with you." Alix glanced over her shoulder at the person. It was a boy around the same age as her so he was likely a fellow student. On his shirt was a blue badge with A1 on it.
"That's better. I am-"
"I could not care less." The boy was baffled when the girl blew him off a second time.
"Hey!" The teen frowned and made eye-contact with Eric. Eric shook his head trying to signal to the boy that it was no use. The boy didn't seem to get the message as he now grabbed Alix's arm and attempted to force her to turn around.
The boy successfully got the girl to turn to him but he unfortunately crossed a line that no one should ever cross. He made Alix angry. Alix turned by her own choice and immediately grasped onto the boy's throat.
"What part of my ignoring you made you believe that you could touch me?" Alix lifted the boy off of the ground with one arm. He struggled trying desperately to break free but couldn't no matter how hard he tried.
"D-DO YOU KNOW-GAH!" Alix strengthened her grip on his neck shutting the boy up.
"No. I do not know who you are. What I do know is that regardless of your status you are still an insect." Alix's words were spoken coldly as she glared into this annoyance's eyes.
"Please release that fool!" A voice called out gaining Alix's attention. She turned to the owner and beheld an older girl walking up to her slowly.
"My friend here was just drawn in by your beauty and simply could not help himself. Please do your best to forgive and forget." Alix scanned the girl.
She had short black hair and eyes to match. She was definitely conventionally attractive but seemed to emit this aura of dominance. Like she was not asking Alix to put the boy down but instead ordering her to. Alix quickly glanced over the girl when she noticed something.
Alix released the boy without breaking eye-contact with the girl. He hit the ground hard coughing as he tried to catch his breath. "Keep this bug in his jar next time. Otherwise I may just squash him."
The two girl's eyes remained locked for a moment longer before the older girl closed her eyes and smiled innocently. "Of course, and I am once again sorry that he became so aggressive. I'll need to fix that later." The girl grabbed her supposed companion and dragged him away.
"That almost got dicey Mama Wolf." Alix her eyes on the direction that the girl left in. "Did you see her badge, Holiday?" Eric frowned.
"No, why?"
"S2"
"Excuse me?" Alix turned to Eric with a grim expression. "Her badge. It was Red and it had an S2 engraved upon it."
"New students of Marconix! Please turn your gazes to the front!" Alix, Eric as well as all of the other students turned to the front where there was a man standing proudly.
"Hello everyone! I am your Headmaster Edgar Noslen and I am here to congratulate you all on making it into our wonderful university!" As if prompted the teachers standing outside of the crowd erupted in applause. The headmaster motioned for them to stop before continuing.
"Firstly, I wish to say how happy I am that we have such a magnificent turn out this year. Don't tell your upperclassmen but I believe this year will be one to remember." Alix couldn't tell if the man meant his words or if he always said that.
'Must be in his script." Mo speculated.
"Now, some of you may be a bit confused by the three buildings around us and what they have to do with your badges." The students began agreeing in one after another. All except Alix who was confident in her own reasoning.
'Only a fool would fail to understand the situation.'
Edgar waited for them to quiet down before continuing. " I am here to explain that very subject." The headmaster cleared his throat.
"Ahem. Our wonderful Marconix University was created by Brenda Marconix, Terrence Hall, and Janice Vineel. Three great friends and comrades on the battlefield. Each one excelling in different skills." Alix nodded.
This was only further proving her theory correct. Marconix truly is-
"That is right, Marconix was developed to be a school for Future Spellcaster, Martial, and Occupational vocations alike."
...
"Wait, What?"
