Chapter 295: The Way to Fight Back Against Bibi Dong
Hu Liena and the others came and left in a hurry. After announcing the re-selection of the Seven Great Sects, they immediately departed.
Because of this explosive news, the main hall was in an uproar. The sect representatives who had been invited looked around, all their thoughts now focused on the re-selection to be held a year later.
To them, the re-selection of the Seven Great Sects was undoubtedly a golden opportunity to make a name for themselves. Being ranked among them would bring enormous benefits in recruiting soul masters and gaining influence in all aspects. Who wouldn't want to seize that ranking?
For a time, everyone completely forgot they were attending a wedding celebration. The newlyweds, once the center of attention, were suddenly neglected and cast aside!
Clad in her wedding dress, Qian Renxue trembled slightly. The fire in her chest wasn't just anger—there was also a deep, bitter sorrow.
How could she not understand? Bibi Dong announcing the re-selection of the Seven Great Sects at such a time and occasion was a deliberate slap in the face—to reduce her to nothing more than a side character at her own meticulously prepared wedding.
Was this woman really her mother?
If so, then why treat her own daughter like this?
This was supposed to be the most important moment of her life!
At that moment, whatever lingering affection she had for Bibi Dong completely vanished.
Xiao Yu gently took Qian Renxue's hand. He could feel her pain—being targeted like this by her own mother. Anyone would be devastated. The fact that she hadn't shed a single tear was already her final act of defiance.
Bibi Dong...
His cold gaze turned toward Spirit Hall. Xiao Yu no longer held even a shred of goodwill toward this so-called mother-in-law.
Indeed, all of this began because Qian Xunji wronged her.
But what sin had Qian Renxue committed?
Could she have stopped Qian Xunji from assaulting her? As a child unwanted by her own mother, if she had the choice, would Qian Renxue ever have chosen to be born from Bibi Dong?
Bibi Dong had every right to resent Qian Xunji's shamelessness, Qian Daoliu's inaction, and Yu Xiaogang's cowardice—but Qian Renxue was the one person who didn't deserve to be the outlet for her misfortune.
Yet in truth, Bibi Dong vented all the pain and frustration from her life on Qian Renxue.
Numbly, Qian Renxue completed the entire wedding ceremony like a lifeless puppet and returned to her palace chambers.
"Want to let out some steam?"
Xiao Yu gently wrapped his arms around her from behind. His warm voice sounded beside her ear. Ever since Hu Liena and the others had announced the re-selection of the Seven Great Sects, he'd already been thinking about how to strike back at Bibi Dong.
Qian Renxue turned her head to look at Xiao Yu, whose true face had now returned. She bit her lip and gave a heavy nod.
Xiao Yu smiled and said, "Then starting tomorrow, we'll begin contacting the Clear Sky Sect, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and other influential sects in the soul master world. We'll have them all refuse to participate in Spirit Hall's re-selection of the Seven Great Sects next year!"
Qian Renxue blinked. "All of them refuse?"
"That's right. Every one of them!" Xiao Yu nodded. "The Clear Sky Sect, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and our Nine Star Hall will all boycott that woman's re-selection. Her humiliation will be worse than being slapped in the face on the spot!"
"Really?"
Maybe because she was still stunned from the earlier emotional blow, Qian Renxue's mind hadn't quite caught up yet. She asked in a daze.
"Of course!"
Xiao Yu sat at the edge of the bed and placed Qian Renxue on his lap, wrapping his arms around her slender waist.
"Think about it," he said. "Right now in the soul master world, aside from Spirit Hall, the most influential forces are our Nine Star Hall, the Clear Sky Sect, and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect."
"If we all agree not to participate, then that so-called re-selection of the Seven Great Sects will just be that woman and her supporters putting on a one-woman show."
"Once word gets out, it'll be a joke. No one will take those rankings seriously."
"Exactly!"
Qian Renxue's mind finally started turning again. Her face, stiff since the second half of the wedding, finally showed a smile.
"She pulled that stunt at my wedding? Then I'll tear her dignity apart and stomp all over it!"
She paused for a moment, then frowned.
"But our relationship with the Clear Sky Sect and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect isn't that good. Will they really agree?"
Xiao Yu gently stroked her waist and chuckled.
"Don't worry. When it comes to dealing with that woman, we're all on the same side."
"Besides, the Clear Sky Sect has been in seclusion for over twenty years—their power isn't what it used to be. And the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect just took a heavy hit."
"They're more afraid than anyone of losing their title as one of the Upper Three Sects."
Qian Renxue nodded in thought.
But in the next moment, her brows furrowed again—Xiao Yu's hand on her waist was becoming less and less disciplined.
"What are you doing?"
"My lady," Xiao Yu grinned, "it's our wedding night. What do you think I'm doing?"
With a mischievous smile, he pounced like a hungry tiger. Amid Qian Renxue's startled cry, the night surged forward with wild intensity.
Morning came. Warm sunlight spilled into the room, shining softly on the two of them.
After a night of fierce battle, even Qian Renxue—already a high-ranked Soul Douluo—couldn't endure such intensity. She lay limp in Xiao Yu's arms, too drained to even lift a finger.
Xiao Yu held her close. Her body, soft and radiant like white jade, rested peacefully against his chest.
Though it wasn't their first time, seeing Qian Renxue in her wedding dress, so breathtakingly beautiful, had driven Xiao Yu into a frenzy.
"Your Highness, time to get up," he said, placing a light kiss on her forehead. "There are still many matters waiting for you."
"I'm tired," Qian Renxue pouted.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and, for once, acted like a spoiled little girl.
"I want to sleep a little longer. Today, you go pretend to be Xue Qinghe for me, just for one more day."
"Alright," Xiao Yu replied with a soft smile.
He truly couldn't resist this rarely seen side of her.
After holding her for a little longer, he finally put on his Xue Qinghe disguise and left the bedchamber.
As a crown prince, Xiao Yu enjoyed privileges that others couldn't dream of.
But he also bore responsibilities that few could handle.
Even the day after his wedding, there was no time to rest.
This was exactly why he had always advised Qian Renxue to shed the burden of being Heaven Dou's crown prince.
With their talent, they were better suited to operate from the shadows—not handle everything personally.
By late morning, after managing several minor affairs, Xiao Yu submitted a request to Emperor Xue Ye.
He asked to visit Sunset Forest to consult with the Nine Star Hall's experts on how to respond to Spirit Hall's re-selection of the Seven Great Sects.
With the emperor's permission, he departed the Heaven Dou Palace immediately and headed straight for the Sunset Forest.
