They passed by a men's clothing store.
Zhang Yuxi suddenly had an idea. "Let's go. Let's take a look."
Men's fashion styles weren't particularly flashy, so the children wandered around for a bit before wanting to leave. Zhang Yuxi, however, was selecting clothes with great concentration. Men's summer wear consisted of little more than T-shirts, tank tops, and shorts.
The owner made small talk with Zhang Yuxi as he showed her the merchandise. "Beautiful lady," he began, "are all four of these your children?"
Zhang Yuxi gave a cool hum, her expression distant.
Doing business required a thick skin, of course, so the owner piled on the flattery.
"Lady, you're so fortunate! To have four children all at once, and each one is so cute and sensible. Your kids are incredibly well-behaved; they don't run around when you tell them not to. Not like some customers' children, who don't listen at all!
