The young Japanese women of today have long since lost their former glory. Back in the economic boom of the 80s and 90s, they all lived by the "Three Wallet Theory." This theory involved having a man to pay for meals, a man to buy gifts, and a man to run errands—commonly known as an ATM, a meal ticket, and a chauffeur. None of these men were considered marriage prospects. Ultimately, they all aimed to marry a 'three-highs' man: one with a high-level education, a high income, and a tall stature. They called this man their 'fated one,' or what would be translated in China as their 'prince charming.' And then… that was the end of that.
