Yuan Yuxun felt a mix of relief and sadness upon hearing his grandson's words. At an age when he should be playfully leaning on his parents, he's had to grow up due to all he's been through.
He quickly explained, "Your aunt has been invited to perform a surgery, so you don't need to worry."
Yuan Zining was reassured by his grandfather's words: "I understand. I'll hang up now. Grandpa, I won't be coming back for the next few days. My uncle is out on a mission and hasn't returned, so I want to stay here and accompany my aunt."
Yuan Yuxun did not object: "Understood. I'll have someone bring you your school materials and winter homework."
He had a personal reason for not wanting his grandson to return.
After all, since he started dealing with those people, he feared they might seek out Zining. He didn't want Zining to get involved.
