Ye Wenjuan only then noticed the man who had emerged from the shadows, but she couldn't make out his face clearly. "Are you talking to me?"
The man nodded. "Yes."
Ye Wenjuan couldn't help but become alert. She inconspicuously stepped back, ready to flee if things turned south. "Who are you, and how do you know what I'm planning to do?"
The man didn't beat around the bush. "Why ask so many questions? If I say I can help you, I can. Just tell me, do you want my help or not?"
Ye Wenjuan knew full well there was no such thing as a free lunch. "Why would you possibly want to help me out of the goodness of your heart?"
The corner of the man's mouth curled into a smirk. "Naturally, it's because I can't stand them either."
Hearing this, Ye Wenjuan relaxed her guard slightly. "Which one of them do you have a grudge against?"
In truth, she asked this to test the man, to see if he was trying to trick her.
