Chapter 3 - cruelty

Chapter 3

It had been a week since his encounter with the Halliwell sisters. Allen had taken out a lot of Demons.

Demon activity as a whole had been pretty active as of late. That didn't stop him, though. He had to protect those that needed saving.

Whether he wanted to or not, he had grown close with Kimberly. Allen was well aware that what he felt for her went beyond friendship. Only days prior had he realized that he had a crush on the girl. He was unsure if he should act on it, though.

The sky above him had darkened only moments ago. He was on his daily patrol. He had killed four Demon's tonight, all of them low-level, of course.

'There's the spring formal coming up. Maybe I should ask Kimberly." Allen didn't know if she would accept his invitation, but he felt like he could ask her at the very least. 'I have

second period with her. I'll ask her then.'

Allen came out of his thoughts as a childlike scream, which was feminine in origin, echoed throughout the area.

He narrowed his eyes. He sniffed the air and picked up the scent of a witch. "I should hurry!"

….

Phoebe had a thoughtful look on her face as she looked at a photo. It was a picture of her, Piper, and Paige. A couple of months ago, they had taken some time off from work to go to the beach.

They looked good, smiling a bit. She picked up the framed photo. Instantly, she gasped.

Phoebe could see it now. Allen stood in front of a girl with blonde hair and hazel eyes. He wore the same clothes he had on when he had attacked them.

This led her to believe this was a vision of the past. From about a week ago.

Just as quickly as the vision began, it went just as quickly.

"Girls! Piper! Paige!"

Phoebe frowned as she could hear her sisters approaching.

…..

Sophia Garcia wasn't having a great day. She, along with her best friend, had gotten permission from both her parents and her aunt to have a sleepover.

Tears formed in her eyes as she traveled farther away from her friend's house.

'I-I'm so sorry!' Her tears fell down on either side of her face.

"Hello….witches, unfortunately for you I'm on the hunt for powers." A man with dark hair and eyes smirked as he walked towards Sophia's bestie and her aunt.

Sophia was so scared. The poor girl was frozen in fear. She felt so useless.

The girl clenched her fists tightly.

"I wouldn't if I were you. Just wait your turn, I'll come for you soon enough." The Demon spoke.

"S-Sophie-run."

Tears formed in her eyes.

The Demon walked forward and grinned as he kicked Sophie's friend to the ground, he then proceeded to grab the only woman in the house by the throat causing her legs to dangle with her reaching for his arm that was choking her.

He laughed with a crazy look on his face. Suddenly a blade materialized with his free hand. Almost instantly he stabbed her causing blood to ooze onto the floor.

"Aunty!"

"Mrs. Forest!"

"Get out!" The woman coughed up

blood. "Whi…le you still can…"

"I…."

"GO!"

Sophia wept as she turned in her heel. 'I-I'm so sorry.' She thought as she ran out of the house.

The young girl had a look of surprise as someone with brown hair and green eyes was running towards her. He seemed to be sure of where he was going.

Once he was a few feet away from her he stopped. Sophia's feet came to a halt as she observed the young man.

"Who…"

"You're a witch, right?"

Sophia widened her eyes. 'Oh no. He wasn't working alone!' She took a step back.

Allen saw the fear in his eyes and frowned. 'What happened to make her so scared? A demon has to be involved.'

"L-Leave me alone!"

Allen frowned. "I'm not the enemy."

"Y-You're not? Aren't you a Demon?"

"That is irrelevant at the moment. You were running away from something. Tell me, what happened?"

"I was having a sleepover with my bestie. Her aunt had just finished preparing dinner. Oh, poor Sarah…" tears gathered in her eyes once again.

Allen widened his eyes. "Sarah? Does she have blonde hair and hazel eyes?"

Sophia looked at him with a look akin to surprise.

"You know her?"

"I don't have a lot of time to explain. You just have to trust me. Hop on my back. I can't just leave you here."

Sophia stared at him.

"Look, kid, I know that you're scared, but if you don't hurry, someone is going to die, needlessly!"

Sophia bit her bottom lip. Against her better judgement, she obeyed him and hopped in his back, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Hold on tight!"

Allen began to run at a really fast pace. Sophia could feel the wind around her as they got closer to their destination.

One of the perks of being a demon was that it took him longer to get tired. Thanks to this, they arrived at the Forest residence in five minutes.

Allen waited for Sophia to jump down, and once she did, he rushed inside. Bursting through the doors, he noticed that the demon had a woman in a chokehold, and there was a lot of blood.

The next thing he noticed was the bloody knife in his hand. Allen cursed. He glanced at Sarah, who had a hopeful look on her face.

"Mr. Allen!"

The young Demon rushed forward and landed a punch across his jaw, which sent him flying. Before Sarah's aunt hit the ground, he caught her. With his other hand, he formed two fingers together and thrust them upwards.

Everyone widened their eyes as a barrier of wind separated the Demon from himself and the Forest family.

Allen lowered the woman in his arms to the ground gently. Once his hands began to glow blue, he lowered it to the spot where she was injured.

The woman looked up at him with a grateful look. Allen gave her a small smile before looking at the barrier. The Demon punched it. This caused him pain, obviously, as it tested through his skin.

'Idiot.'

The aunt was healed moments later. Allen rose to the ground and deactivated the barrier.

"Aunty!"

"Sarah!"

Sarah went to embrace her aunt while Sophia made her way towards her friend.

"Who do you think you are to interrupt me?! Find your powers elsewhere!"

Allen scoffed. "I don't need their powers, scumbag."

The demon smirked. "Show me what you've got then."

Allen didn't respond; instead, he conjured an energy ball before launching it at the demon.

"Heh. Cute." The Demon took a step forward.

Allen widened his eyes slightly before summoning another energy ball; however, this time he hovered another hand over it. The energy ball grew to the size of a head.

"How's this for cute?" Allen threw the energy ball at the enemy.

The Demon screamed in agony before blowing up, his body glowing a bit.

Allen sighed. 'What the fuck, man?'
