Chapter 564: The Arrival of the First S-Level Magic Pattern User, The Demon King
Upon hearing the name, many people at the scene immediately perked up.
This time, there would be no forfeiture.
Magic Pattern!
In the era of magic patterns, naming a guild after the term "magic pattern" was bold.
Many viewed the World Government's approach as shameless.
But contempt aside, as the founder of the Magic Pattern Association, the strength of the Magic Pattern guild was widely acknowledged in the magic pattern world.
After all, the World Government spared no expense in resources.
If not for the Kingdom of Miracles' Holy Light Potion, the World Government would have dominated completely.
Their influence over magic pattern users was formidable.
"Oh! President, it's our turn." a young man said in a passage.
He spoke to a middle-aged man in a black suit with a stern face.
"Yes…" the middle-aged man replied, nodding.
He turned to a green-haired man in green clothes, lounging lazily on a wooden sedan, and said, "Jayne, it's your turn to act later. You must win the match with a single strike."
"This will make our Magic Pattern guild renowned worldwide." he added.
The president of Magic Pattern saw the situation clearly.
The eleven previous guilds had all forfeited.
This led people to overestimate the strength of the earth and stone dolls.
If their Magic Pattern guild passed with a thunderous blow, the contrast would be striking.
Their official anti-demon organization would surely gain global fame.
Thus, they couldn't miss this opportunity.
"Well, it's really troublesome."
He made no effort to argue, simply agreeing while grumbling.
The president was unfazed by Jayne's complaints.
Jayne wielded the magical power of laziness.
Had the World Government not trained him extensively, controlling him would have been difficult.
"Lift Jayne and let's go!" the president ordered.
"Yes, President." the team responded.
Following his command, four members hoisted Jayne's wooden sedan.
He resembled an old noble mistakenly granted passage among the magic pattern users.
"Oh… the Magic Pattern guild has appeared." Morgans announced.
"Dear viewers, as you can see the unique entrance of Magic Pattern." he said.
"They're actually carrying someone in a sedan." he noted.
"Let's focus the camera on the person in the sedan." he added.
As Morgans shouted, the live broadcast zoomed in on Jayne.
"Oh, green hair and a lazy expression. He looks familiar." Morgans said.
"Isn't this the trump card of Magic Pattern?" he asked.
"The first man in the magic pattern world to earn an S-level magic pattern badge." he declared.
"Evergreen Jayne!" he exclaimed.
Morgans' tone was exaggerated, but the Magic Pattern president on the field was pleased.
Though Jayne held no leadership role, strength didn't require a title.
As the guild's ace, his fame boosted the guild's reputation.
"Evergreen Jayne! It's him!" an audience member shouted.
"Is this Evergreen? Such a grand entrance, carried out like that." another remarked.
"That's incredible! I heard he's the only man to achieve S-level magic pattern status." someone said.
"Well… pirates and illegal magic pattern guilds don't test with the Magic Pattern Association." another pointed out.
When Morgans announced Jayne's name, both the live audience and those watching the broadcast began discussing it.
Evergreen Jayne had been heavily featured in newspapers recently.
The first man in the magic pattern world to earn the Magic Pattern Association's S-level badge.
In other words, he was the first in the great era of magic patterns to become an S-level magic pattern user.
Though this excluded unregistered users, the achievement was still prestigious.
With the Demon Hunting Ceremony approaching, the timing of the newspaper coverage was perfect.
Many who previously ignored the magic pattern world now knew of this figure.
As the Magic Pattern guild took the stage, in a lively square in Sand City, two mysterious figures in gray cloaks and face-concealing bamboo hats appeared quietly.
"Jayne, Evergreen? That's laughable!" one said in a hoarse voice.
"Has he reached the magic power of a lesser demon king? That guy absorbed the magic of countless monsters, beasts, and even demons to get there." he added.
His unique voice went unnoticed, as if he didn't exist.
"The unrestrained magic power can be felt even from here." the other figure said.
"What an arrogant guy!" he remarked.
Hearing his companion, the first figure didn't respond immediately.
He stared at a figure on the screen at the square's edge.
White strips hung from his hat's brim, faintly revealing a face unlike a human's, resembling accumulated sand.
A powerful human would recognize him as the Demon King of Sand, Desert, one of the Nine Demon Kings.
Beside him was the Blue Demon King, Gusen, another of the Nine Demon Kings.
Desert took one last look at the screen and said coldly, "Human magic patterns absorb magic like this. Even with Holy Light Potions, they're nothing to fear."
To demons, most magic pattern users had no future.
Absorbing the essence of magical beasts to boost magic power was a futile endeavor.
Even if one reached the demon king's realm quickly, the path was short-lived.
Beast magic was milder than natural magic but carried unique individual imprints.
Such mixed absorption led to impure magic power, limiting long-term potential.
"Hehehe…" Gusen laughed sinisterly, agreeing with Desert.
"Exactly. I just want some fun now." he said.
"But our enemies aren't just those magic pattern users." he added.
Desert scanned Sand City with his senses, then stopped.
He glanced at the humans around and prepared to leave.
"Let's go. This ceremony doesn't seem to involve any truly powerful humans." he said.
As Desert walked away without looking back, Gusen's face, wrinkled like tree bark under his hat, grinned.
"Desert, you're such a cold one!" he said.
"Alright, let's check on the pure demons' progress here." he added, following Desert while complaining in a dry, gloomy voice.
"To be honest, this errand is really bothersome." he said.
"I kind of want to bring that human here." he admitted.
Hearing Gusen's words, Desert paused and asked, "Are you talking about the pirate Four Emperors, Charlotte Linlin?"
