Chapter 383: My Love! Come Be My King!
The valley of Rusukaina Island bloomed with an otherworldly charm, its air thick with the sweet fragrance of pink petals drifting lazily on the breeze. Under the delicate canopy of a flower tree, Kai lounged, his back against the sturdy trunk, while Giada, the newly created Blood True Ancestor, nestled close. Their playful banter filled the serene space, a contrast to the weighty implications of her existence.
Giada's attempt at a tsundere act, crossing her arms with a haughty pout, had been her latest gambit to win Kai over.
But Kai, ever perceptive, saw through her naive scheming. Tsundere went out of style, he thought with a smirk, though he couldn't deny her charm. Giada was a whirlwind of contradictions: sultry and seductive one moment, adorably clingy the next. Her relentless persistence, coquettish pleas, mischievous winks, and outright stalking, wore down even his playful resistance.
In the end, her multifaceted allure proved too much. "Fine," Kai relented with a chuckle, "you can have a few sips of my blood."
"YES!" Giada's emerald eyes sparkled with triumph, her face lighted up as if she had won a grand prize.
Kai found her enthusiasm endlessly entertaining, especially her self-taught flair for dramatics. But as her cold lips brushed his neck, he raised an eyebrow. She crouched over him, her movements deliberate, like a kitten savoring a treat. She's definitely doing this on purpose.
"What are you up to?" he asked in a teasing tone.
"Master, such an important moment deserves a ritual!" Giada purred, her soft hands looping around his neck. Her lips grazed his ear, her voice dropping to a sultry, languid drawl that sent a shiver through the air.
"I get the ceremony bit, but why are you biting my ear?" Kai quipped, feigning indignation. "Is blood not enough? Are you trying to eat me now?"
Giada froze mid-nibble, caught off guard by his joke. She sputtered, then rallied, her voice tinged with mock exasperation.
"Dear Master, this is the moment for sweet, romantic words, not your icy humor! You'll ruin the mood!"
"Oh, is that so?" Kai replied, leaning back with a grin. "Then hurry up already. If you dawdle, Yin will come looking, and you'll have to share the spotlight."
Giada's face fell, her lips twisted into a pout. She'd gone to great lengths to steal this moment alone with him, shooing away any distractions, especially Yin, whom she playfully dubbed "the light bulb." No way was she letting this chance slip.
"No more delays," she declared, her voice dripping with charm. Her lips parted, revealing delicate fangs that gleamed in the dappled sunlight. "Here I go."
The valley fell silent, expect for the soft rustle of petals and the faint sound of Giada's breath against his skin. A gentle breeze stirred the pink flower tree above, sending petals spiraling down like a delicate rain, their fragrance mingling with the moment's intimacy.
Kai sat steady, cradling Giada as she drank, her body was practically melting against him with each sip. His hand idly brushed through her emerald hair, its silken strands slipping through his fingers. One sip, two sips, three… she's not stopping.
"Little Giada," he said in an amusing tone, "have you had enough? How many sips is this now?"
He could sense the subtle pleasure radiating from her, a natural effect of her Blood True Ancestor instincts, releasing a power akin to a love potion. It was harmless, more a tingling sensation than anything potent, and Kai allowed it to linger. Why block something that added to the fun? Still, he had to be cautious. Even with his blood's power and essence deliberately dulled, overindulging could overwhelm her, possibly to a fatal degree.
Giada, hearing his gentle warning, paused. His hand continued to stroke her hair, and a flush of embarrassment crept over her. She'd promised just a few sips, but the taste of his blood, her lover's blood, had ensnared her completely. It was intoxicating, a pull she couldn't resist.
"Sorry, Master," she mumbled, her voice sheepish as she eased back, still draped lazily across him. "I got carried away. But I'll make it up to you!" Her eyes gleamed with renewed mischief, and she licked her lips, her gaze sultry. "Name your price, anything you want!"
Her cheek was so close it nearly brushed his face, her words dripped with suggestion. Kai's smile widened. He said in a bright and teasing tone. "Anything, you say?"
"Absolutely!" Giada nodded fervently, her voice ringing with sincerity. "More real than gold or diamonds, whatever you desire, it's yours!"
"Hmm," Kai mused, his expression softening as if considering her offer seriously. "In that case… how about a few more rounds of our game? Kaido's Thunder Eight Trigrams is just too strong, it breaks the sky and everything in it."
His tone was light, his face glowing with the innocent enthusiasm of a young man lost in a fantasy world. But Giada's expression darkened instantly. She knew he was toying with her, poking at her competitive streak to rile her up. The "crumbly master," as she called him, loved to mess with her head.
Still, time was short. Yin could appear at any moment, stealing her precious alone time. Refusing now would waste all her efforts. With a dramatic sigh, she threw caution to the wind. "Fine, I don't care, today, you're mine!"
Her voice carried a bold, almost domineering-like authority as she leaned in, closing the distance between them. She wasn't playing anymore. If her master was going to dangle himself like this, she wasn't letting him slip away. Their faces inches apart, she moved to seal the moment, but before she could, Kai's arms tightened around her.
With a soft laugh, their figures vanished from beneath the flower tree, leaving only scattered petals and the faint echo of their presence.
Moments later, a silver-haired figure stepped quietly into the clearing. Yin's crimson eyes fell on the abandoned TV and game controller lying on the grass. She stood in silence, her face showed unreadable expressions.
Her slender hand reached up, clutching a black gemstone pendant hanging around her neck. Her gaze softened, a mix of longing and melancholy flickering in her pupils as she pressed the gem to her chest.
"Master…" she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Whoosh…
The breeze swept through, carrying her soft words skyward, mingling with the fragrance of petals as they danced into the distance.
---
The next day.
Calm Belt, Rusukaina Island
Kai stood on the sandy shore, waves lapping gently at the edge of the beach. Giada faced him, her emerald hair catching the sunlight, her expression a blend of reluctance and determination.
"I really don't want to leave," she said, her tone half-joking but laced with sincerity. "I've decided, I'm going to build an empire of the night. And when I do, my Master, my love… you'll come be my king!"
Her words were bold and her eyes gleaming with ambition. The Amazon Island nearby wasn't her domain, and Giada dreamed of carving out her own domain, a place where she could reign supreme.
"Then I'll pick the perfect blood concubines for your harem," she added with a playful smirk. "They'll keep you so happy that you'll never want to leave. You'll be my king forever."
Kai laughed, shaking his head. "Pass. I'm not exactly cut out for that."
If he wanted a harem, he could build one himself, better than anyone else could. But his life was already full. Yin, his ever-present "little tail," trailed him constantly, her quiet sadness tugging at his heart. He had to consider her feelings. Add to that his growing circle of companions, and the idea of curating a harem felt unnecessary.
The years ahead were long, potentially endless. If he indulged too freely, his harem might balloon to absurd numbers, breaking through the heavens themselves. The thought alone was exhausting. Kai wasn't a heartless romantic; he couldn't love carelessly or leave hearts to wither without reciprocation. Love, without effort and time, would fade, and he wasn't one to let it decay.
Dating each partner, giving them the attention they deserved, it all took time. Overindulgence was a trap, and he preferred to avoid it.
"I get it," Giada said, her mischievous grin returning. "Don't worry, I'll be very selective with your future concubines." She winked, undeterred by his refusal.
Kai rolled his eyes, then reached out his fingers and flicked her forehead lightly.
Pop!
"Ow!" Giada yelped, rubbing the spot with a pout. "Helping you build a harem isn't enough? You're so hard to please, my love!" She shot him a coy glance, then blew a long, exaggerated kiss his way.
With a resolute turn, she faced the sea. She'd been the one to insist on leaving today, knowing that lingering even a few more days might sap her will to go. "I'm off," she called over her shoulder. "But you'd better think of me always, my dear Master!"
"Sky Dragon!" she declared, her voice was ringing with power.
A massive white magic circle flared to life before her, its intricate patterns glowing with arcane energy. From its center emerged a colossal dragon, its white-armored scales glinting like polished steel. The beast reared back and roared, its cry shaking the heavens.
ROAR!
The sound wave erupted, rattling the atmosphere and sending ripples across the sea. On the island, birds took flight in a frenzy, insects fell silent, and beasts turned anxious eyes toward the shore, trembling at the dragon's might.
