Chapter 292 - Chapter 292

Over the next six months, Ye Feng granted Tang Yuehua considerable authority—not over military affairs, but in managing civil matters and daily governance.

Tang Yuehua was no fool. She knew the truth: the Clear Sky Sect had been wiped out. She also realized Ye Feng was playing a game of cat and mouse—with her as the mouse. The moment she slipped, he would pounce.

Despite the pain of losing her clan, Tang Yuehua maintained her composure. She kept a low profile and waited patiently for an opportunity to strike back.

---

Three years later.

Bibi Dong appeared before Ye Feng, her expression laced with excitement.

"It's done," she said with a satisfied smile.

"What's done?" Ye Feng raised an eyebrow.

"Before I answer, you need to meet someone."

"Who?"

"You can come in now," Bibi Dong called out.

A tall figure entered the chamber. His long golden hair flowed wildly down his back. His eyes held a strange, regal glow—double pupils that flickered with an ancient power.

"Dai Mubai," Ye Feng muttered, narrowing his eyes slightly.

Dai Mubai stood tall, his presence commanding without uttering a word. He radiated the aura of a monarch, powerful and composed. He was far different from the teenage youth Ye Feng had last seen. Now, he looked to be in his thirties—broad shoulders, resolute face, simple but striking features. He carried the weight of someone who had climbed to the top, his spirit pressure sharp and fearless, even when facing a first-level god.

A strange sigil glowed faintly between his brows.

"Ye Feng. It's been a while." Dai Mubai's voice was calm, devoid of any particular emotion.

"You've completed the Nine Trials of a God?" Ye Feng asked.

"Yes." A rare, proud smile tugged at Dai Mubai's lips.

"Which god's trial?"

"Mars."

"The God of War?" Ye Feng blinked in surprise.

In the original trajectory, Dai Mubai had also inherited the God of War's second-level position. Even after Ye Feng's interference in fate, he still ended up with the same divine inheritance.

"Yes." Dai Mubai gave a firm nod. "With the Nine Trials complete, I now have a chance at godhood—just like you and Bibi Dong."

"So, what good news did you come here to bring me?" Ye Feng asked, his tone flat.

"If I'm right," Dai Mubai said slowly, "you've entrusted Tang Yuehua with a delicate task. On the surface, it looks like you're being merciful—giving her a path to redemption. But in truth, you're waiting for her to slip up so you can sentence her to death without sparking a backlash from the United Nations. You're also using her to lure out the remnants of the

 Clear Sky Clan."

Ye Feng gave a single nod. "Correct."

His approach mirrored the strategies of the Qingliu faction during the Ming Dynasty on earth. Outwardly clean and righteous, but in truth, ruthless and efficient.

Ye Feng had given Tang Yuehua power just to create a fatal trap—one that would justify her execution and wipe out every trace of the Clear Sky Sect.

"Then it's time to act," Dai Mubai said, flicking his fingers. A series of letters appeared from his storage spirit guide. "These are messages Tang Yuehua sent to me over the past year. She contacted me secretly, hoping to use my status to incite rebellion. She tried to seduce me with the idea of restoring the monarchy and overthrowing the United Nations. Along with the letters, I've included the names of surviving Clear Sky disciples she's contacted through me."

He placed a map and a notebook on the table.

Ye Feng unrolled the map, finding dozens of locations marked across Spirit City—shops, inns, businesses. Far more than he expected.

"She's been hiding her network right under your nose," Dai Mubai continued. "Besides the Clear Sky disciples seeking revenge, there are forces from the Heaven Dou Empire, along with kingdoms and principalities that want to restore the throne."

Dai Mubai handed over another list.

Ye Feng scanned it. The factions of the Heaven Dou Empire were well-represented—but there were no names from the Star Luo Empire.

He raised an eyebrow. "So the Star Luo monarchists aren't planning a comeback?"

"Not exactly," he said, closing the list. "You're protecting the restorationists from your homeland, aren't you?"

Dai Mubai didn't answer.

"Why help me at all?" Ye Feng asked.

"Shouldn't that be obvious?" Dai Mubai replied coolly.

"You've got no reason. Zhu Qing is mine now. You should hate me, not help me." Ye Feng's tone hardened. "You and Zhu Zhuqing were once engaged. Because of me, she fell out of love with you. That's not something a man just forgets."

Dai Mubai's fingers curled slightly.

"Because of Tang San," he finally said, his voice laced with bitterness.

"Tang San?" Ye Feng frowned. "What about him?"

"If I hadn't listened to Tang San and left Shrek Academy, I wouldn't be in this situation. If I had stayed, I would've shared in your glory, not wandered the continent without a home. I hate him for that. But I also owe him—because if not for that journey, I would never have obtained the Nine Trials of the God of War."

In truth, Dai Mubai didn't know that he was destined for the God of War inheritance all along. Tang San had little to do with it.

"That's your reason?" Ye Feng asked.

"It is."

Dai Mubai turned away. "You decide what happens next. I'm leaving. If I hadn't passed the War God Trials, I might've sided with the Star Luo restorationists. But now, I have my eyes set on the Divine Realm."

With a flash of spirit power, he vanished from the room.

In just a few short years, Dai Mubai had cultivated to the rank of Titled Douluo through sheer effort.

Ye Feng watched him go. Then, his voice rippled across space, compressed into a line of sound that reached Dai Mubai's ears:

"If each of your God of War trials lasts ten years, I suggest you travel to Sea God Island. Train under the Light of the Sea God and strengthen your body through tidal refinement."

---

"Are you helping him?" Bibi Dong asked, looking at Ye Feng.

He nodded. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Helping him isn't a problem. With the Sea God's Light and the tidal body refining method on Sea God Island, his cultivation will increase faster, and his future as the God of War will be more stable. It's my way of returning the favor."

Bibi Dong's gaze shifted toward the documents on the table. "Then… can we take action now?"
