Sylas looked up into the skies, but he didn't feel anything wrong. He only felt that the world was breathing somehow, as though it had gasped awake, but more subtly.
His brows wrinkled the slightest bit.
Fanelei looked back, confused about the fact that Sylas was just standing there. The road was quite wide and no one would bother them on the way to the city—and even if they did, she was here—but it was still odd.
Sylas wasn't actually worried. No matter who was scheming against him, they could have never guessed that he would have the ability to command an A-tier to do his bidding. That was well outside the realm of possibilities.
Even so, Sylas didn't want to use Fanelei at all if he didn't have to. If he could have gotten away with it, he wouldn't have brought her along at all.
