Chapter 20: Vampires
Knockturn Alley. Murphy was dressed in a black robe, a cape, and a hood, looking like a bad guy. In fact, he didn't want to act so immature, but he couldn't help it. Dark wizards and such, cool, okay! If he wasn't so stupid, he would have wanted to create some cold air around him, and play the role of being cold and ruthless.
However, when he really came to Knockturn Alley, he found that there was really no shortage of weird people in strange costumes here.
For example, the old witch who seemed to have just crawled out of the garbage dump, with a crooked hat on her head, and even oysters and barnacles, and her hair like seaweed curled, and I don't know if it was dyed or the influence of some kind of magic potion, but it actually showed a pus green like poison, which made people stay away from her.
There was also the hunchback wizard with a huge trough nose. Several huge insects were lying on his bald head and hunchback, as if they were sucking his blood, but he actually looked quite enjoying it, and was intoxicated.
There was another tall and thin wizard standing on the street, wearing a tattered cloak, holding a birdcage in one hand, in which an evil bird kept opening its mouth to try to chirp, but it seemed to be cast under a silent spell.
And in his other hand, he actually held a sickle.
He stood silently on the street, motionless, and looked like a terrifying scarecrow from a distance.
Faced with these monsters, Murphy could only bow down and feel ashamed.
I was too conservative.
In comparison, my dress was really ordinary, even too plain.
This feeling is similar to when you finally overcome your shame and cosplay a character that you didn't dare to try before, but when you get to the comic convention, you see that there are so many shameless cross-dressers everywhere, and your sense of achievement of breaking through yourself instantly becomes dull.
However, it's okay. With so many conspicuous bags, you don't have to worry about being targeted.
Murphy walked around Knockturn Alley and found several places to open stores. The rent was very cheap, ranging from 200 to 500 Galleons. Murphy directly rented one of the larger stores and decided to find someone to decorate it in a few days.
Then Murphy also found a store selling potion materials, "Toad Cellar".
Murphy asked about it, but it turned out that the store only sold some unconventional potion materials, such as human bone powder, fingernails, cobra venom glands, witch menstrual blood, etc.
But after paying a few Galleons for consulting fees, Murphy still got a name from the store owner Halima, Lisandro Foley.
It is said that he can get any material Murphy wants.
In the "Siren Song" tavern, Murphy met Lisandro.
It was a pale-skinned young man who was playing poker with another wizard. The latter lost in a short while. The notary standing beside returned the two people's wands. Lisandro laughed and pocketed the few Galleons that the other party had bet on the table.
"I'll play." Murphy pushed the loser away, and the latter cursed, but Murphy pulled out a wand and the latter gave way.
He handed the wand to the notary and sat down.
But Lisandro stood up, "I don't play with strangers."
He said and prepared to clean up the poker on the table.
Murphy held him down with his hand, "Halimah said you were hospitable, I thought she was serious."
He put twenty Galleons on the table, "Let's play a round. If you win, I won't take a penny. If you lose, you can take these. How about that? Or do you dare not?"
"Foley, this guy called you a coward." The bartender of the tavern seemed to be an acquaintance of Foley, and mocked.
"Fuck you, sell your pig urine." Lisandro cursed, but sat down again, "If you have the guts, I will play a round with you. If you lose, you have something to say. If you win, you have to give me double!"
"Boy, I advise you not to bet with him. This guy is a lunatic." The bartender advised.
"Thank you," Murphy smiled, then looked at Lisandro, "How to play?"
"Simple." Lisandro said, put away the deck, shuffled it twice, divided it into two piles, and put it on the table.
"Each person chooses a pile, and after shuffling the cards, draws three cards. Whoever has the highest card wins. You can choose first."
Murphy understood that under this rule, Lisandro, who shuffled the cards first, might know part of the order of the two piles. No matter which pile he chose, he could use some tricks to draw the highest card from his own pile.
Since he did not know the original order of the piles, he could only rely on luck.
"This is not fair. You just shuffled the cards, so you may know the order of the cards, or you may have marked the cards, so you can always draw the cards you want."
"There is no absolute fairness, kid, do you want to gamble or not?"
"I want to gamble, but I want to change to a fairer way. Instead of us drawing the cards, others will deal the cards. This will prevent the two of us from cheating."
Lisandro stared at him, "Who do you want to choose?"
Murphy looked around the tavern and pointed at the man who had just lost the bet, "It's you."
Only the guy who just lost to Lisandro will definitely not be his accomplice.
"Okay!" Lisandro actually agreed, reached out to take a deck of cards, and spread them out in front of him, "Then let him deal the cards!"
After saying that, he pointed at the man, "You, Vasco, right? Come over here!"
The man came over tremblingly, a little at a loss, but Lisandro stood up and patted his shoulder, "I agreed to the matter you just said on behalf of the master."
After saying that, he suddenly hugged Vasco's neck and bit him.
Murphy was shocked and wanted to touch the wand, but Vasco, who was bitten, did not struggle, but instead made a strange groan.
After a while, Lisandro raised his head, wiped his mouth, and let Vasco go. The latter collapsed on the ground and slowly got up after a while.
Lisandro glanced at Murphy jokingly and knocked on the table, "Deal!"
Vasco's eyes were gray, and he walked stiffly to the card table. One hand moved slowly on the cards that Lisandro had arranged. Suddenly, he seemed to feel some signal, pressed his arm down, pulled out a card, and then began to explore the deck again.
And Lisandro was also staring at Vasco, his eyes gradually turned red.
Looking at Vasco again, two small holes on his neck that looked like snake bites were bleeding.
Fuck!
Vampire!
Lisandro is his mother's vampire!
He transformed Vasco into his own blood slave, and was controlling him to draw cards for himself through the natural control of the upper vampire over the blood slave!
Merlin's rotten cow!
It's just playing cards, is it worth it? !
Soon, after three cards were drawn, Lisandro breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that controlling Vasco's actions just now was not easy for him.
"It's your turn!"
Murphy frowned, but under the other's gaze, he had to arrange his cards like him.
At this time, Vasco had returned to normal. He came to Murphy's side, without even looking at him, and directly picked up three cards from the top of the deck.
From what Lisandro said just now, Vasco seemed to have something to ask of the "master" behind Lisandro, and from the fact that he did not resist becoming a blood slave at all, what he wanted might be to become a blood slave.
After all, compared to ordinary wizards, vampires are really long-lived.
This guy is now Lisandro's man.
"Open the cards!"
