Just in time, Cypher burst into the room, running with his bag slung over one shoulder, his hair tousled and chest heaving as he caught his breath. "I'm sorry I'm la—" he started, but the professor cut him off with a wave.
"Don't worry, you're just in time for our lesson," the professor said, gesturing for him to take his seat.
Cypher was about to head to his usual spot next to me when he saw someone occupying it—Caleo, lounging there like he owned the place. His irritation doubled, his face tightening; he was already irritated from yesterday because of his stupid actions, and this just added fuel to the fire. Despite that, he forced a smile, though his eyes were threatening, narrowed and sharp. "I'm sorry, but that seat's taken," he said, his voice polite but edged with warning.
Kairos only smiled back, calm and unflappable, leaning back in the chair. "I'm sorry, but the professor said to sit wherever I like, so go sit on another one."
