He reached out to pick her up, but Chen Zhi clutched his arm and forced out a few words through gritted teeth, "Leg cramp."
Si Ye was stunned for a moment, quickly released her, lifted the blanket, and massaged her calf, "Is it this one?"
"Mm-hmm."
Si Ye held her calf, gently massaging it to relax her nerves. Chen Zhi lay there humming softly, and soon the pain eased.
"Feeling better?"
"Much better." She answered him somewhat feebly.
Being pregnant, a leg cramp could sap most of her strength.
Si Ye continued to massage for a while longer, ensuring she was fine before letting go. He took a tissue, wiped away the sweat on her forehead, and asked in a soft voice, "Anywhere else uncomfortable?"
Catching the seriousness in his eyes, Chen Zhi's heart softened. She shook her head and whispered, "I'm fine. You... go to sleep, I'll call you if I need anything."
Si Ye nodded but showed no intention of getting up, "I'm glad I'm the first person you think of when something happens."
