The perspective shifted back to Chicago's train station.
After receiving a firm rejection from Lu Mingfei, the white male's face darkened. He sneered and exchanged a glance with his companions.
Then, as if they had planned it, the four of them simultaneously gripped their metal rods tightly and slammed them onto the ground.
The moment the metal rods collided with the surface, mysterious markings engraved on them seemed to come alive, writhing and extending onto the ground.
In the blink of an eye, the mysterious patterns on the rods closed off from all four directions, forming something resembling an alchemy matrix.
"Eh? What's this?"
Xia Mi looked down in panic at the sudden alchemy matrix that appeared underfoot, instinctively grabbing onto Lu Mingfei beside her.
Whoosh!
In the next moment, the scenery before them changed drastically.
They were no longer at the bustling Chicago train station. Instead, they found themselves on a fog-covered, broken bridge.
The dark, ink-like clouds swirled like waves, periodically releasing terrifying, thick bolts of lightning.
The thunderous roar, akin to the sound of spring thunder, accompanied by blinding light, rushed from the distance and quickly enveloped them, dragging the still-dazed Xia Mi back into reality.
"W-where is this?!"
Xia Mi screamed in panic.
"Senior Xia Mi, please calm down."
Lu Mingfei was taken aback by her sudden scream, his right ear ringing. He looked at her helplessly. "This is Nibelungen. No matter how loud you scream, no one can hear you."
Of course, Xia Mi knew this was "Nibelungen"!
She suppressed the urge to voice her irritation, wondering if anyone knew what acting like a pretty girl really meant. However, she couldn't bring herself to say it, still in shock.
Normally, the entrance to Nibelungen could only appear in fixed locations and couldn't just pop up randomly, let alone drag someone from one place into Nibelungen like it had just happened.
This kind of operation was practically impossible in the field of alchemy.
But the reality slapped her in the face, leaving Xia Mi feeling bewildered.
"Be careful. They're coming!"
Xia Mi whispered, her golden eyes involuntarily glowing.
The smell of blood hit them through the mist, and the twisted black shadows that occasionally flashed by served as a warning of the terrifying events to come.
"Humans."
"Sweet scent."
Incomprehensible whispers, as if mixed with some kind of disordered mutterings, filled the air.
The shadows lurking in the mist resembled distorted crawling creatures, cautiously approaching them while making the sound of metal scraping.
Soon, they could finally make out the shapes of the shadows.
The creatures had snake-like lower bodies, torn yellow robes draped over their upper bodies, and deformed, vicious bone protrusions for faces.
Their exposed skin was covered in dense, dark scales, and their eyes gleamed with a dazzling golden light, like gas lamps.
"Mourners. Death Servitors!"
Xia Mi suppressed her breath nervously, her flawless face turning pale. "The numbers... there are so many!"
Indeed, the 'Death Servitors' that emerged from the mist numbered nearly a hundred, and that was just the ones they could see.
It was safe to assume that deeper in the mist, even more 'Death Servitors' were hiding. Even as a Dragon King, facing such a large number of them made Xia Mi feel great pressure.
Suddenly, the 'Death Servitors' stopped, then parted like a tide, revealing a pathway.
The white man they had seen earlier now wore a torn yellow robe and walked out from between the 'Death Servitors' standing on both sides.
He bowed first, then smiled politely. "Mr. Lu Mingfei, Ms. Xia Mi, welcome to our master's world. It's best for both of you to cooperate, or I can't promise what will happen next."
As if to confirm his words, the surrounding 'Death Servitors' began to stir, much like greedy hyenas.
"You talk too much."
Lu Mingfei tilted his head, looking impatient, and said, "I've probably mentioned it already. Today's my first day at school, I don't want to be late. Can you move aside?"
"It looks like you two are refusing?"
The white man's face darkened once more as he coldly said, "If that's the case, then don't blame us."
With a wave of his hand, the group of Death Servitors, suppressing their thirst for blood and greed, immediately seemed to have received approval.
They closed in, revealing sharp teeth and drooling as they hungrily eyed Lu Mingfei and Xia Mi, as if they were about to devour them alive!
"Hey, Lu Mingfei, let's run!" Xia Mi decisively suggested.
As the King of Earth and Mountains, her power was the weakest among the Four Great Lords.
A one-on-one fight would be no problem, but facing a large group of Death Servitors was clearly beyond her.
Unless her brother Fenrir was around, her own strength wouldn't be enough to outlast this many Death Servitors!
Moreover, there was still the Dragon King hiding in the shadows, and Xia Mi definitely didn't want to be consumed.
"No need, leave it to me."
However, Lu Mingfei's response left Xia Mi stunned. He was actually planning to face nearly a hundred 'Death Servitors' alone?!
"Brother, do you need a deal?"
The little devil always appeared at the most crucial moments, looking like a cunning merchant as he spoke, "With just a quarter of your soul, I can help you kill these filthy things~"
"No need, it's just right. I need some exercise."
Lu Mingfei shook his head, rejecting the deal, and pulled the trigger on the black box, casually saying, "Remember a few days ago when you asked me if those worlds were real?"
"I think that's what you said~" The little devil sat on a nearby ruin, swinging his legs and tilting his head to look at Lu Mingfei. "Why are you suddenly bringing this up, brother?"
"I just want to tell you that it's real!"
With the crisp sound of the trigger, the black box finally opened, and Lu Mingfei forcefully pulled out the item inside.
When the item was revealed, not only the little devil but also Xia Mi was shocked. It was a massive chainsaw sword that could somewhat be considered a 'weapon.'
Its appearance was stunning, full of the beauty of mechanical craftsmanship, with thick single-edged saw teeth and a heavy spine that exuded a brutal and violent aura.
Looking at its form, it was more accurate to say that it was a chainsaw rather than a 'sword'!
Boom—!
Lu Mingfei pulled the trigger on the sword's handle, and the silent saw blade erupted with a loud roar.
The young man's cruel golden eyes locked onto the group of restless shadows. He licked his cracked lips, excitement mixed with battle intent, surging and rising around him, until it finally gathered into a terrifying killing intent that seemed almost tangible, filling the entire space:
"Come on, filthy aliens, I will bring you death in the name of the divine Emperor!"
In the next moment, under the stunned gazes of Xia Mi and Lu Mingze, Lu Mingfei leaped forward like a beast, charging at the group of Death Servitors.
Boom—!!!
The roar of the chainsaw shattered the eerie silence in the mist.
With each step, Lu Mingfei rushed into the group of Death Servitors, wielding the roaring chainsaw sword and striking down.
It turned out that the exaggerated chainsaw sword had incredible destructive power.
The sawtooth chain blade spun wildly, and with a chilling sound of bone and flesh tearing, it split one of the Death Servitors in half. Blood mixed with broken flesh splattered, staining Lu Mingfei red.
Wait, wait a minute!
Death Servitors are 'aliens,' so what does that make the dragon race, which shares similar genetic traits?
Lu Mingze's eyes widened as he watched his 'brother.' Suddenly, an unexplainable chill ran down his neck.
The chainsaw sword, so futuristic in design, and the cries of "Aliens must die!" and "The Emperor grants me glory!" followed by one strike after another, splitting the Death Servitors apart.
Covered in blood, Lu Mingfei rushed into the enemy ranks, taking on thousands by himself—was this really his 'brother'?!
