Chapter 370 - Chapter 367 : First Day of School!!

The joyful Xia Mi vacation was quickly coming to an end, and the students were filled with a bittersweet feeling of reluctance.

Of course, I don't know about everyone else, but for Lu Mingfei, there was a sense of relief. Finally, he could escape from the so-called "Happy Xia Mi Camp," which had been more like a hellish nightmare.

As everyone knows, a "Happy" Xia Mi was far from happy. He spent the entire Xia Mi trapped in endless battles and killings. By the time he returned from the "camp," he almost had the same reaction as a war veteran with PTSD, nearly snapping his cousin Lu Mingze's neck without realizing it.

Yeah, that's Lu Mingze, his uncle and aunt's precious little treasure, not the troublesome little demon.

"Brother, how was the training this time?"

Just as he thought of him, the little demon appeared. Sitting with his legs crossed, he was at the window desk, his chin resting on his hand, smiling mischievously.

"It was miserable beyond belief. If I had to describe it, the only word that fits is 'hell,'" Lu Mingfei said, pinching the space between his eyes. A deep fear flashed across his face as he softly recalled, "The entire galaxy was burning in flames of war. Humanity was struggling under the invasion of alien forces. I've never seen such a hopeless... world."

"Oh?"

Lu Mingze seemed particularly interested in the word "despair," his eyes lighting up for a moment. "Sounds like it might be fun."

"You'll understand once you see it for yourself."

Lu Mingfei glanced at him, shaking his head.

"A future with no hope. Billions of stars ignited by the flames of war. Endless blood and killing between the star seas. I can only be grateful that our world is safe. At least we don't have those evil beings. I hope such a future never comes to pass."

Lu Mingze suddenly asked, "Big brother, do you think those worlds really exist?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Mingfei paused for a moment, then fell silent.

"Heh, it's probably just a dream," Lu Mingze shrugged, trying to dismiss the thought. "Hurry up and pack, the flight's ready. Don't be late for the first day of school, dear brother."

Lu Mingfei turned and looked at the corner of the room, where two large suitcases were piled up, filled with everyday items.

"Auntie packed for you. She thought you might need it, so she stuffed in a twelve-hole comforter, a pillow, a pressure cooker, and clothes for when you change, among other things," Lu Mingze spread his hands and said.

"I don't think it's necessary, but what can I do?"

A warm look appeared in Lu Mingfei's eyes as he nodded, "It's fine, it's actually perfect."

Carrying the two suitcases out, Auntie was still grumbling, complaining that the professors at Cassell College had poor taste, not recognizing her precious Lu Mingze.

But when she saw Lu Mingfei dragging his luggage, she went over to remind him with a few words, like being careful when traveling and that the situation in America was chaotic.

Lu Mingfei smiled and nodded in agreement, then took his uncle's car to the airport.

After getting off the plane, Lu Mingfei met Xia Mi.

"Hey, hey~ Little junior, I'm over here!" Xia Mi, with her high ponytail and flawless appearance like a mythical creature, stood out in the crowd. She was jumping up and down, waving energetically at him, her whole body radiating youth and vitality.

Lu Mingfei walked over with his suitcase, surprised. "Xia Mi, what are you doing here?"

"Hey, I just finished my Xia Mi vacation!" Xia Mi grinned, showing her sharp little tiger teeth. "I heard you're starting school, so the professor asked me to show you around!"

Her luggage was minimal, just a backpack. Her smile was lovely, her eyes squinting into crescent moons, and her long lashes fluttered. Paired with her baby-faced look, she was incredibly cute.

But unfortunately, after going through the hellish battles of the Galactic battlefield, Lu Mingfei's heart had already turned as cold as if he had spent ten years killing fish in a supermarket.

What's all this love stuff? It's just an obstacle!

Real men never care about these things!

"Thanks for your help, Senior."

Lu Mingfei politely nodded, but there was no other expression on his face.

Xia Mi felt a bit frustrated, not because she thought she was so charming that everyone should pay attention to her, but because Lu Mingfei's attitude truly made her feel defeated.

Even Caesar, when he saw her, would unintentionally show a hint of admiration in his eyes. But Lu Mingfei was different. His gaze was cold, without the slightest emotional fluctuation, like a hard rock—completely ignoring her.

"Senior, it's time to go," Lu Mingfei said, reminding her.

"Oh, right, I know," Xia Mi snapped out of her thoughts and pouted as she followed him.

Through the crowded streets, the two of them took a cab to Chicago Train Station. According to the directions, they needed to wait for the 1000th express train, as only that train could take them to Cassel.

"Wait, where are you going?" Xia Mi asked loudly when she saw Lu Mingfei walking in the opposite direction.

"To pick something up."

Lu Mingfei stopped, thought for a moment, and explained, "A package, it was sent to me by someone."

"A package?"

Xia Mi was a bit confused but didn't ask further.

At the storage lockers in Chicago Train Station, Lu Mingfei hesitated for a few seconds. Then, following his memory, he entered the password.

Bang!

The largest locker at the bottom opened with a thud, revealing a black box about 1.4 meters long.

Lu Mingfei crouched down, grabbed the black box's leather handle, and pulled it out of the locker. He noticed a note stuck on it: "A belated birthday gift. Happy 18th birthday, Adam."

He paused for a moment, then smiled and carefully folded the note, tucking it into his jacket pocket.

"Wow, such a big package. What's inside?" Xia Mi waited at the station for a long time, and when she saw Lu Mingfei carrying the huge black box, she couldn't help but ask, curious.

"A gift."

Lu Mingfei smiled slightly, clearly fond of this 'gift.'

"Is it a gift from Mr. Adam?" Little devil Lu Mingze suddenly popped up, staring at the black box with curiosity. "What's inside, big brother?"

Just as Lu Mingfei was about to answer, his brow suddenly furrowed. His sharp gaze scanned the crowd at the station, then locked onto a seemingly suspicious figure.

"Heh, some people just can't sit still, big brother," Lu Mingze said after a brief pause, noticing the figure and sneering.

However, he was also a bit surprised that this time, he noticed the sneaky figure only after Lu Mingfei did.

"Uh, junior? Are you okay?" Xia Mi, seeing Lu Mingfei suddenly become cold, turned to look at him in confusion. "What are you looking at?"

"Someone's watching us."

Lu Mingfei's eyes were cold, but his expression remained calm.

"What?!"

Xia Mi was startled, her face instantly turning pale. "We're being watched? By who? This is a train station—there shouldn't be any robbers around!"

Sometimes, Lu Mingfei really couldn't help but feel helpless. He glanced at Xia Mi and said, "Senior, I mean, we're being watched by someone who seems to be a Hybrid. The law has no control over people like that."
