Su Yunjin praised the woman's skillful hands, then continued to taste other dishes. The next two cooks' dishes were quite average; although they tasted good, they weren't too delicious. Su Yunjin didn't plan to keep them.
When tasting the dishes of the latter cooks, their culinary skills weren't bad, and the soups they brewed were quite tasty.
Gu Ya suggested that Su Yunjin keep three to five cooks, as the house in town is large and requires more cooks, one or two wouldn't be enough.
After sampling all the dishes made by these people, Su Yunjin decided to keep five of them and gave the rest some reward money before letting them go.
The ones who were selected were very happy, and those who weren't had some regrets. The monthly wage initially discussed was ten taels of silver more than other places. Losing such a good job was truly regrettable.
