Playground Shenanigans

The sun was out illuminating the scene below. Mud spots were here and there because of the previous rainy day. "C'mon Naru!! You got it!! Just one more!!"

Yuinaru, age 11, was gripping the monkey bar beside Yuimaru. "Ugh, I can't….. my arms….. it hurts…."

"One more Naru!! Just One More!!" Yuimaru cheered her on.

Yuinaru got into exercising after seeing Yuimaru run around the block so many times. So here, she is following his steps out of interest. The two were doing pull ups. Yuinaru was at number 9. One more and she would be at 10. Her arms shook as they bent. Her head grew closer and closer to the monkey bar.

"Almost…..got it…." She struggled but her grip gave out on her. She drops from the monkey bar and lands on her feet.

"Cmon Naru, you almost hand it." Hanging upside down, Yuimaru crossed his arms over his chest.

"Easy for you to say!!" Yuinaru through a fit. "You did this longer…. Now my arms hurt. This isn't fun at all!!"

Yuimaru: "I never said it was fun, Naru."

Yuinaru: "Then why do it? It hurts and it isn't fun at all."

Yuimaru: "Because I wanna be strong. Lift tons like that big guy at the carnival."

Yuinaru: "How's that fun? Lifting heavy things."

Yuimaru: "Cause jts fun being strong." He hung from one arm. "Doesn't this look fun to do?" He gripped the bar with both arms and hung his body upside down straight, using his arms and core to steady and stabilize himself. "Or this??"

Yuinaru was quiet for a second. "It… looks fun when you do it…" She mumbled.

"Huh?" Yuimaru looked down at her.

She blushed. "It's nothing, just get down here so we can do something else!!!"

He giggled lightly. "Okay, okay." He let go of the bar and flipped his body. The soles of his feet touch the ground but it was a mud spot. He slips on impact. "Oh…. " He hit the ground and his clothes were covered in mud.

Yuinaru looked at the fallen Yuimaru. "Pfft…. GYAHAHAHAAHA!!" That unbearable laugh left her mouth.

He looked up at her and only smirked. (Maybe being a kid isn't so bad.) The freelance feeling… it was almost nostalgic.
