Chapter 19 - Chap 19:

"…"

"…"

"Pss, why is everyone staring at us like this?" I whispered to Sara while glancing around at all the demons who were just stepping on Sara and me as we were walking on our horses.

"Hmm, maybe it's because my horse has a fucking black eye!" Even though she is a completely black horse, you can see it clearly! Sara yelled the last part, gesturing at Anna's right swollen eye.

"It's her own fault for biting me for no reason."

"I don't care. Don't hit my Anna ever again!" Sara spoke, encircling Anna in a protective embrace.

"It's fine. I have Mr. White now. I won't come near that thing."

"That thing! Don't call Anna a thing."

"What should I call her lunch instead?" I asked, smiling while licking my lips and looking at Anna.

"Eeehh!!"

"And there they go," I said, laughing at Anna running away with Sara.

"Neigh!" White complained, giving me a sidelong glance.

"Hehe, don't worry; I won't eat horses. Anyway, let's catch up to them," I said, rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly.

"Neigh." White shook his head and started galloping after them.

"You think this speed will catch up?"

"Neigh." White humphed, irritated.

"Okay, okay, I guess you will know your wife better," I mumbled, letting go of the rain.

"Neigh!!"

"Isn't she your wife?"

"Neigh."

"Oh, sister, then?"

"Neigh." White nods in confirmation.

"Wow, I guess you got all the good genes seeing how... oh, here they come," I said, catching sight of Sara approaching us from behind.

"Kyaaaaa!! Anna, calm down!" Sara yelled, running past us with a panicked expression.

"Hahaha, Sara's face was hilarious," I said, laughing my guts out.

"Neigh."

"Oh, you agree?"

"Neigh."

"Well, let's leave them; then let's go to the market. I am hungry. You know the way, right?"

"Neigh."

"Then lead the way, mister," I said, patting his head.

While White was busy taking me to the market, I looked at what was around me and in the city.

Glass, glass, and glass was the only thing I could see until the third store. At least after that, it was an electronic build board showing ads. But every building was made out of glass until the third story, and it doesn't look like it was glass panels. It looked like the entire wall of the three levels, and the whole width of the building was 20 meters at the minimum.

"These glass windows are huge," I said, amazed.

"Oh, look, there are also bridges connecting the building," I exclaimed, amazed once more as I peered beneath the street-level bridge. Although it wasn't a new concept to me, the sheer number of bridges within a single building was astounding. These situations were common in cities, as a single business building was insufficient to accommodate all the workers, and it was too risky to have them walk on the streets. That's why they designed a bridge connecting buildings under the same company.

"Tch a country button." One of the demons walking past me spoke in an annoyed tone.

"Hmmm, a fox demon, huh?" I hummed, gazing at the demon and his fluffy tail.

"That's right. You have a problem with that." The demon glared at me and said this.

"Hmm, no, I just haven't seen one before, well, in person," I said, a bit confused at his reaction.

"Hmph, whatever." He said this, walking away.

"Got to ask Sara later. Hey, white, how far are we still at the market? I am ravenous right now." I asked, tapping her neck.

"Neigh!" White hummed, irritated.

"You will also get food, dumbass," I said, shaking my head.

"Woah!! You were a pegasus!" I shouted, surprised to see the wings in white appear.

"Neigh!"

"That's cool."

And just like that, White took flight, bringing us to the market as quickly as possible.

[5 minutes later]

Well, apparently, the fastest way is illegal.

Just as White was about to pass the second building, two other individuals, dressed in silver and black armor and a white cape adorned with a shield symbol, emerged from the side of their own pegasus, directing us to land immediately. Given their specific roles, I instructed White to land immediately. In all honesty, I could have quickly left, but I was intrigued by the significance of the shield.

"Young miss, you cannot fly your pegasus in the city." The city guard said this as he looked down at me.

"Uh, sorry?" "Uh, sorry?" I said, tilting my head at him.

"Why is that a question?"

"I don't know."

"Sigh, so you are going to follow me or what?"

"I will follow, but where will we be going?"

"To the city guard station. What else?"

"I see. Okay, lead the way then." I said, jumping on white again.

"Get off the pegasus and follow us on your feet." The guard behind me said,

"I am being very cooperative, and you want to force me to walk to the station while you guys are on yours?" I asked, turning to face the man. I replied, turning my gaze back to the man.

"Jermy, it's true she is being very cooperative with us." The first guard said, trying to calm his partner down.

"And that's why you remain a private individual even after all these years, David." Get off the pegasus, girl." Jermy responded, dismissing both of our words.

"Tch annoying," I mumbled, getting off.

"And another charge for slandering a city guard," Jermy said, looking disgusted.

"Oh no, I am afraid I might pee myself. Or label you as a fool who will never achieve anything in his life." I spoke in a terrified tone before abruptly switching to a monotone voice, giving the guard goosebumps.

"You!!"

"Miss, please don't anger him even more," David said, trying to defuse the situation.

"Well, if Mr. Private stays quiet, then I won't," I said, annoyed.

'What is wrong with wanting to ride the pegasus? It isn't like you guys won't catch up with your own pegasus.' Stunned, I strolled beside White.

"Tch, children are so annoying."

"We can say the same thing about adults always thinking they know better." I retorted, glaring at him.

"Oh, you really don't know how to hold your mouth, brat."

"Ugh, you're so fucking annoying. I'm sure you're single too, given your unique personality. I replied, glaring at him.

"You!" Jermy yelled again, pulling out his sword this time.

"Oh, you know what it means to pull out your sword like that, right?" I said, Interesting. I might have been human all my life, but I knew some things about the demon culture when it came to pulling out their swords.

"Like a brat, you will be able to kill me."

"I see," I mumbled, putting my hand on my sword.

"Hey, hey, don't start attacking each other now," David said, coming in between us.

"Oi Ren, what's going on here?" Sara yelled from above us.

I saw Sara looking down at us, sitting on top of Anna with her wings out.

"Oh, you with this brat. Please lower yourself to the ground immediately. Jermy turned his sword towards Sara as he spoke.

"Holy sh*t, this guy is dumb. Why are you wasting your time with this idiot?" Sara looked at me and pointed at Jermy.

"Badmouthing a city guard will land you in jail."

"I am underage. Sara said, staring at Jermy, "You cannot arrest me, and that doesn't even include my noble house."

"Wait, that's. Hey, Jermy, that's princess-"

"I said come down here," Jermy said, ignoring David's words. He jumped off his pegasus in the air toward Sara.

Flop.

He didn't go far, not even reaching halfway towards Sara before his body flopped onto the ground.

"Sheesh, attacking royalty, what a dumbass," I said, clenching my sword and forcing all three to look my way.

"I didn't even see you move." David stammered, his gaze shifting from the head in my hand to the headless corpse.

"Of course you didn't. You are way too slow for that," I said in a monotone voice.

"That's murder."

"He was about to attack a king. Do you think he'll live after that?" I uttered these words, gazing at David while gripping my sword.

"Right, that is Princess Sara," David said, nodding to himself.

"He might have attacked me, but you didn't have to kill him, Ren," Sara said, landing on the ground and looking at me nervously.

"Hmm, you seem stressed."

"Well," Sara mumbled, looking away.

'Guess she didn't think I was that fast.' I thought, sighing.

"Sigh. If you thought that I went all out on your brother."

"Our," Sara said with determination, surprising me.

"Our brother, how did you think I killed that furry guy on Earth?" Well, I guess I am not that strong anymore because of this dumb body of mine." I said in a hushed tone, getting onto white.

"You got the point there. I was being too naive."
