Sylvaniah woke to warm sunlight touching her face, filtering through the soft silk curtains. For several seconds, she remained completely still beneath the thick duvet, staring sleepily at the unfamiliar brightness illuminating the master bedroom.
Her head still felt somewhat heavy and her throat was dry, but the terrible, bone-chilling cold from the previous night was entirely gone. Then, vivid fragments of memory slowly returned to her mind, piece by piece.
She remembered the heavy rain on the outdoor backlot, Director Adrian sternly ordering her to stop working, and Stephen unexpectedly appearing inside her vanity trailer. She recalled his strong arms lifting her from the floor, the comforting warmth of his chest, and the quiet ride home through the storm.
