Chapter 435 - Chapter 435: Meeting

Chapter 435: Meeting

"What in the world is this!"

In a secret chamber within the City Lord's Mansion, Kong was utterly shocked as he looked at the massive cauldron before him.

What stood ahead was an enormous giant cauldron, from which thick black qi surged. The black qi shot upward into the sky, nearly solidified, as though it enveloped the entire city.

"This aura feels somewhat similar to that fellow we encountered before," Ei reminded softly.

"The fellow we encountered before?"

Kong was momentarily stunned, then as if realizing something, he said, "Wife Ei, are you saying the one behind this city is the Dark Origin Will?"

"If my guess is correct, it should be that."

Ei nodded calmly and added, "But judging from the aura released by this cauldron, its strength at this moment is far greater than what we faced before."

Hearing this, Kong fell silent, sinking into deep thought.

Back in the Douluo Continent, the cultivation of the Dark Origin Will could already rival that of a peak Divine King. Yet he and Gu Yuena had only encountered it when it was heavily wounded, suppressed by the Dragon God and the Five Divine Kings in succession. Even under those circumstances, it still possessed such formidable power.

Now, if his guess was correct, he and Gu Yuena had arrived at a time when the Dark Origin Will was uninjured, and its cultivation was at its absolute peak.

"Wife Ei, under these circumstances, do you have confidence in dealing with it?" Kong asked, raising a most crucial question.

"It is possible, but…"

After a brief silence, Ei's cold voice sounded. "Once the two of us go all out, then whether it is the past, the present, or the future, all timelines will collapse. At that time, some people and events of the future will never exist. Such a price is far too great."

"I see."

Hearing his wife's reply, Kong nodded thoughtfully.

Indeed, once a large-scale war broke out in the past, the ripple effects would be immense. That was precisely why, in the entire history of the Douluo Universe, no living being had ever mastered the true essence of space and time.

Even the Dragon God, at his peak, merely used spatial power to open a special domain.

"In that case, is there anything we can do?" Kong asked softly as he looked at the cauldron surging with black qi before him.

Though he did not know its true purpose, he could tell at a glance it was not anything good. If it could be destroyed, then it should be.

"From my observations, this cauldron lies at the very center of the city. These black qi flows seal all exits of this city," Ei explained. "So if you want to make a move, husband, you can only let me act. But if I act, then only one final chance will remain."

"If you don't act, is there any other way to get out?" Kong frowned, his voice tinged with helplessness.

Truthfully, he did not want to waste Ei's opportunity here, for who knew how long he and Gu Yuena would remain in this strange era, or what dangers awaited them.

Of course, if no other option existed, he would have to let Ei take action. But doing so would mean only one chance remained. Once all chances were used, he would be forced to leave this world and return to his original time and world.

Just as Kong was weighing present against future, Ei's voice rang out again. "Husband, someone is coming!"

Startled, Kong immediately returned to his senses and turned to look behind him.

Before long, a beautiful woman brimming with seduction appeared before his eyes.

"Well, boy, you dared to come here!"

Recognizing the intruder as the human who had followed them in earlier, her eyes narrowed as she spoke coldly, "Do you truly not know the meaning of death!"

"Who are you?" Kong asked in puzzlement, staring at the woman who had just appeared.

No, had his whereabouts been exposed so quickly? That made no sense at all!

Even if the City Lord was absent, no one should have entered another's private chambers.

"You come into my domain, and yet you do not know who I am?" The woman sneered, as black qi began to gather in her hand.

"So you are that so-called City Lord's daughter!" At last, Kong understood. "Since you are here, then where is Gu Yuena? What have you done to her?" he asked, his brow furrowing, his expression solemn.

"The silver dragon?"

At the mention of the silver dragon, the woman's interest was piqued. She could tell that the man before her possessed no cultivation and posed no threat. Thus, she wanted to see whether she could extract the information she sought.

For example, what exactly was the origin of that silver dragon, and why had she come to this place?

"Boy, I am very curious. Why did you come here?" The woman ignored Kong's question and instead asked what puzzled her most.

"By accident," Kong replied without concealment or deceit, for indeed they had entered this place unintentionally.

"By accident?"

The woman was unsurprised, clearly finding it close to what she had already guessed. She quickly pressed further: "In that case, where did you come from, and where are you going?"

"Is elder sister interrogating a prisoner?"

Hearing her words, Kong gave a faint smile. "If elder sister wishes to know such things, why not ask that silver dragon you speak of?"

In truth, Kong himself was curious. With Gu Yuena's identity as the Silver Dragon King, it stood to reason this woman should not have known her race at all.

Yet now, not only had she identified Gu Yuena as dragonkind, she had even spoken the exact color.

There were only two possible explanations for this.

First, that Gu Yuena herself had revealed it. But if so, that meant she had been placed in danger, and had tried to use her identity and lineage to intimidate the woman into retreat.

As for the second, it was that Gu Yuena had already restored her true form and fought against this woman. If that were the case, then it meant Gu Yuena still had hidden strength left.

Kong leaned more toward the second explanation, for from the woman's pale and weakened face, it was evident she had been beaten quite severely by Gu Yuena's true form.
