The massive Spirit Wolf bounded into the fray, its silver fur gleaming as it tore through three attackers with terrifying ease. Bodies flew through the air, crimson robes stained darker with blood.
Elias fought his way toward the pedestal, each step hard-won against the tide of enemies. Aurora stayed close to him, her dagger flashing in the crystal light as she defended his flank.
"We won't make it!" Tina cried, violet shields flickering around her as she protected Grey, whose wounds had reopened in the battle.
Cora's laugh cut through the noise. "The Serpent rises tonight!" She held something aloft—a dark stone that pulsed with sickly red light. The chamber temperature plummeted as she began to chant.
