"Salvador."
The voice echoed through the golden chamber.
Salvador froze.
He knew that voice.
He had heard it in dreams he could never fully remember. He had heard it in the strange visions that had followed him since childhood, always accompanied by the same warning.
Find the room.
Find the truth. Now that voice was calling his name again.
"Salvador."
Ella tightened her grip around his hand.
"Do you know who that is?"
Salvador swallowed.
"My grandfather."
The golden pool in the center of the chamber began to ripple.
A soft light rose from its surface, gathering slowly until it formed the shape of an elderly man.
Salvador stared.
His grandfather stood before him exactly as he remembered from the old portraits that had once hung in the palace.
Silver hair.
Calm eyes.
A long royal robe.
But there was something different about him.
He looked peaceful.
Not like a ghost.
Not like a man who had returned from the dead.
