The sanctuary became silent once more.
The silver key rested quietly inside the walnut box, catching the faint sunlight that filtered through the narrow windows. Though small enough to fit into Salvador's palm, it carried a weight none of them could explain.
Salvador carefully lifted it.
The metal was cold.
Almost unnaturally so.
He turned it slowly between his fingers.
Unlike ordinary keys, its handle had been crafted into the shape of a blooming lily, while the shaft bore tiny engravings that spiraled toward its tip.
Ella stepped closer.
"There are words."
Salvador held it nearer to the light.
The engravings were so fine they were almost invisible.
He read them quietly.
*"Only truth unlocks what betrayal concealed."*
Felix slowly exhaled.
"Your father truly believed you'd find this."
Harvey nodded.
"He planned every step."
Salvador smiled sadly.
"He planned for the day he wouldn't be here."
His words settled heavily over the room.
